Sharing My Journey as a Writer for the Los Angeles Sentinel
For the past few months, I have been blessed with the opportunity to write for The Los Angeles Sentinel, the oldest continuously published newspaper serving Black Los Angeles. Every article feels like an introduction, or re-introduction, of talented young, Black artists to the wider Black LA community. I am deeply passionate about telling our stories, sharing our experiences, and uplifting our voices in a way that celebrates our unique perspectives.
My style is deeply narrative, meant to inform and encourage wherever you are in your journey. I have covered emerging artists, young Hollywood talents, and our city's hidden gems. But recently, I have taken a new path by covering stories from the faith community, offering a broader scope of Black LA.
I'll be honest: My network in this community is not as expansive as in Hollywood, so I am excited to build new connections and dive deeper into stories that resonate with a different but equally vital part of our city.
If you are in Black LA, or know someone with a story worth telling, whether they are part of our spiritual communities or our arts scene, please connect with me. I am deeply committed to amplifying voices, old and new, and would love to hear from you. Your story matters.
If you're an emerging artist, spiritual leader, or someone making a difference in LA, drop a comment or send me a message. Let's share your story.
