Sharing My Blessing & Privilege

My sponsor and a dear friend of mine in her parting words at her retirement party encouraged us to use our blessings and our privilege. I’ve tried to model that throughout my life. Recently a young lady from church asked me to go on mission to bless and serve those less fortunate in a country* not as rich as America. Because of the love, kindness & generosity of many in my personal life and professional network I came out of poverty and enjoy many blessings and privilege too countless to mention. So when she asked me my heart leaped with excitement at the notion of giving back in a completely different way on different level. This is my first ever mission trip and I am so excited to go and serve! There is often an intersection of our personal and professional lives. It’s in that spirit that I am reaching out here in this forum to my professional network for support for this mission trip. 

This April 24th - 29th, I have an amazing opportunity to travel with a group of 9 other women, on a mission trip. This trip gives us the opportunity to provide 800 women church leaders with a conference hosted specifically for them in order to better serve and equip them. Due to the extremely low wages of the Pastors in their country we would like to make this event free for these special leaders. With your help every woman who is invited will receive free travel, food and lodging for the duration of the conference. We will not only fund the event but we plan on arriving with a pair of shoes, an outfit and bag of toiletries for each woman. These gifts are a tangible way for us to show the women they are loved and cared for. In our time there we will also visit different local churches and meet pastors and missionaries who, with your support, will also be able to receive a financial blessing for their churches and families as needed.
