Sharing of Knowledge is Power – LET THE WORLD BENEFIT OUT OF OUR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPEREINCES By Dr.T.V.rao MD In the times of the Internet proliferation, we are benefited with developments, and also harmed with negative aspect of the matters beyond our control. Today, when most people in developed nations have easy access to information from around the world, communication costs are cheap, and we have plenty of educational options, even specialized knowledge doesn’t necessarily give you power. In fact, you don’t even have to go to great lengths to develop a specialized knowledge anymore. However knowledge sharing is more than just getting exposed to online resources, as today many younger generations are well communicated and lacks knowledge and fundamentals, Organizations have recognized that knowledge constitutes a valuable intangible asset for creating and sustaining competitive advantages. Knowledge sharing activities are generally supported by knowledge management systems. However, technology constitutes only one of the many factors that affect the sharing of knowledge in organizations, such as organizational culture, trust, and incentives. The sharing of knowledge constitutes a major challenge in the field of knowledge management because some employees tend to resist sharing their knowledge with the rest of the organization. It should not be confused with information sharing, shared intelligence, collective intelligence, or group intelligence. Most of student and Teacher relations depend on known sharing, as Knowledge constitutes a valuable, intangible asset for creating and sustaining competitive advantages within organizations. Several factors affect knowledge sharing in organizations, such as organizational culture, trust, incentives, and technology. Knowledge sharing activities are commonly supported by knowledge management systems, a form of information technology (IT) that facilitates and organizes information within a company or organization. Some employees and teachers tend to resist sharing their knowledge because of the notion that knowledge is property; ownership, therefore, becomes very important. In order to counteract this, individuals must be reassured that they will receive some type of recognition for what they create. If we are placed in Academic organization, or Medical colleges, we are associated with many intellectuals. We should put many efforts to build a Knowledge management paradigm which should focus typically focus on organisational objectives such as improved performance, competitive advantage, and innovation, the sharing of lessons learned, integration and continuous improvement of the organisation. Knowledge management efforts overlap with organizational learning, and may be distinguished from that by a greater focus on the management of knowledge as a strategic asset and a focus on encouraging the sharing of knowledge. Today people try to learn everything just with a click of Mouse, in an era of widespread, inexpensive communications, knowledge spreads way too fast for it to hold power for long. So there’s no point in trying to cram tons of it into your head on the assumption it will make you special and give you power it won’t. Knowledge is not power. The sharing of knowledge is power. It’ ignorance to think you’re the only one in your college or organization with specific knowledge, and therefore power. Rather than trying to hoard something that can be easily acquired, share your knowledge. Two people will collectively know more than one. Three will know more than two. And when you have a room full of smart people sharing their knowledge, there’s very little you can’t accomplish together. Never forget Knowledge Sharing is the Learning, Learning is the Knowledge Sharing, and instead of sharing our knowledge not only for our very own benefit, but that of others, we have been taught how we need to protect it, to hoard it from others, because “knowledge is power” and if we release our knowledge, we release our power, when we all know it’s rather the opposite: knowledge SHARED is power. that one of the most powerful things we can all do as humans is to eventually help other human beings when they are in need, and in order to do that we would need to start by sharing our knowledge and experiences, know-how, skills, lessons learned, etc. In short, by sharing. In the past few years sharing made me brighter and made me to realise my lacunae as someone better than me looking at your contribution, to me sharing is all about pushing further my own learning experiences, to never stop learning, to always keep up with that critical thinking mentality that allows me to grow both intellectually and emotionally, to help others keep excelling at what they do, understanding that if they are successful on their own ways, so I too, will be successful. Life is all about the legacy each and every one of us leaves behind in this world so that through that collective knowledge gathering and sharing experience we help future generations to build a better, smarter world, not just for them, but for betterment of Human contributions and Sharing.
