Sharing happy news & building trust

It's official am now a Grandmother! My daughter had her baby boy on Sunday morning! I never thought I would be saying that sentence at the age of 51 but here we are! Am so proud of my daughter and am so in love with my Grandson. Why am I sharing this with you? Because one of the things that drives me is being able to give my family more opportunities and a better life.

It's not easy running a business but it is so rewarding when you see results of your hard work paying off and being able to do things you never dreamed were possible is a huge buzz especially when I thought I couldn't make a difference. Making a difference can mean being there when your family need you or helping one person; whether that be a useful introduction or inspiring one person in an audience from the stage.

Building a community around your brand and building trust is key. (As a business owner who always does what they say they will do and always delivers value, having to cancel or reschedule a call is never an issue). People buy from people they know, like and trust and when family duty calls, your clients will understand.

4 Things that build trust on Twitter and Linkedin are:

1. Adding value always.
2. Sharing other peoples posts or tweets
3. Engaging with your community and showing you really care.
4. Showing behind the scenes and being real.

I did a tweet about becoming a Grandmother and it got more engagement than other tweets I did for the whole month. 37,000 impressions and so many replies, RTs and private messages. People love to see good news. Share your good news stories, share stories about others and mention people especially if they are doing great things. Watch your audience respond.
