I’ve long been a devotee of LinkedIn, back when Myspace, *Facebook, and the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter—now winnowed down to the 24th letter of the alphabet—X, were the biggies.
(Snapchat was considered the upstart when it burst onto the scene in 2011, with its claim to fame being the use of the cutting-edge technology that was virtual stickers at the time. What a difference a decade+ makes. But I digress. I was talking about LinkedIn.)
So, there are two BIG reasons why I love LinkedIn. The first? It’s held the line on its brand promise to be a professional social media network. That means it’s not the place for us to share puppy pix, nor post, “I’m sad,” one of the most ubiquitous, engaging, and concerning social media updates I’ve ever read.
And the second BIG reason I love LinkedIn? Like me, it’s always trying to improve, learn, and grow. The fine folks at LinkedIn regularly disseminate information about their algorithms, roll out enhanced tools, and share helpful hints. In that “helpful hints” spirit, because I’m feeling the BIG LinkedIn love today, I’ve captured the best ways to build engagement on LinkedIn in one of my many beloved visual formats. Sketch noting!
I hope you find this handy creation of mine to be helpful. If not, please don’t tell me because I’ll then be forced to visit other social media channels and post, “I’m sad.” No one wants that. For so many reasons.
*Facebook Fun Fact. Meta is the company that oversees all the different apps that include Facebook, but the app (name) known as Facebook remains unchanged.
