This month we share our FY22 success with our people and the planet.

Building on Rob Mills post yesterday about our commitment to helping our team get through the most challenging economic time of the last 50 years by increasing salaries in line with inflation this month we deliver on two additional pillars of our employee value proposition (i) our Performance Sharing Plan and (ii) our Healthy Planet Dividend

Here at Tenka Group , owner of Gemba and Turnstile , we share 20% of our profits with our people and the planet.

Firstly, for over 15 years, 18% of our annual EBITDA is shared with our people via an annual Performance Sharing Plan (PSP).

We believe that if the company succeeds, then our people who are critical to such success should also share in the rewards. Our PSP is designed to;

  • Develop a culture of profitable growth to achieve superior company performance
  • Recognise and reward the achievement of objectives and create a reward for performance culture
  • Contribute to the recruitment and retention of quality staff and assist in ensuring remuneration and rewards are competitive in the marketplace

In a departure from the previous annual payment, to help with the rising cost of living this year we paid bonuses in three tranches; December 2021, June, and August 2022.

And we are proud of the fact that every employee, regardless of role or seniority is eligible.

Secondly, on the back of becoming a Carbon Neutral Certified company last year, we’ve also committed to delivering an annual ‘Dividend to the Planet’, where 2% of company profits are invested into offsetting all unavoidable emissions and supporting effective environmental projects.?

Our people came together to select the initiatives we support and in the past 12 months, we’re proud to be investing in Clean Oceans, Solar Energy, and Tree Conservation projects. This activity has seen us become Climate Positive in less than 12 months.

Tenka recognises the impact that climate change continues to have on the sports and entertainment landscape and we hold ourselves accountable for change. It’s our belief that we all have a responsibility to protect our one-and-only ‘home ground’ and that climate change must be addressed as a matter of urgency. We understand that as individuals and a group, we must continue to reduce our direct CO2 emissions and provide support to environmental projects as part of our collective journey to a Net Zero future.
