Shared Writers Round with Belmont and Northern Ireland Songwriters

Songwriter Peter McVeigh recently visited Nashville with students from Northern Ireland for The Music City Irish Festival and a visit to Belmont.?

On March 13th, the Songwriting department hosted a writers' round mixed with students from Ireland’s Southeastern College (Lisburn and Bangor campuses) and Belmont in the historic Columbia Studio A building on Music Row.?

Belmont Songwriting majors Addison Bendall, Miriam DeYoung, Zander Jett, Cora Jordan, Andrew Grooms, Emmy Moyen, Corrine Robinson, and Matt Ryan all traded songs with their new friends from Northern Ireland. After the round,?many students exchanged information and arranged to meet and write songs to continue the collaboration.?

Our relationships in Northern Ireland at Queens University, and elsewhere, have led to many such collaborations, including some of our students and grads getting their first songs recorded in the UK. We’re excited to now add Southeastern College to our growing list of partners and friends!
