Share The Meal - Corporates
Many large organisations struggle with finding CSR programs that are wide enough to satisfy their global workforce and I'd like to make a suggestion - take a look at ShareTheMeal .
I've been on the World Food Programme 's innovation advisory council for several years now and this is one of the simplest and most exciting innovations I've had the pleasure of working with. It's an app where you can buy a meal for a family that needs it in a few seconds.
At the time of writing the program has delivered over 190 million meals - it's rising at over 100,000 a day so check in at their site for the latest number.
What's so great about the program is how accessible it is. As you can see it has nearly 1.4 million supporters donating meals. It's so easy - for many every time they get a takeout or have a meal out, they open up the app and add a few meals.
What I'd like to suggest to all of you is to get your companies involved. We at MX Publishing are pledging an extra meal for every Sherlock Holmes book bought on our website. Why not link meal donation to one of your KPIs?
The meals are £0.65 (about $0.85) each and you can either select a specific destination or in the main pot. There are over a dozen to choose from.
