Share great stories about great people

Sun Life's recent choice to not honour the employee benefit contracts they write, has got me steaming mad. So, I decided I needed to turn that waste of energy to something more positive (for today at least). So here it is...

Let's each take a moment to honour someone that has made life better since COVID. I suggest we do it by commenting on this article using the @symbol to link to the person. Include 3 things...1. their name, 2. their company name (if applicable) and 3. the great thing they did. We then ask each person to pay it forward.

As an example, my comment to this post might be... "Thanks @chrisgory of @orchard benefits for taking time to create the advisors COVID spreadsheet that provides the majority of insurer and TPA communications around COVID. It's a great reference that I use almost daily."

In this manner we are recognizing great people, doing great things and it also lets more people know of their actions. Call it a random act if kindness. It could be an employee, a client, a friend or an associate. Let's see if we can't find lots of great stuff out there and leave a positive mark on the world.

Late to the party again..... Thanks to everyone here for all the input, knowledge, sharing and creating a community that is a collective of peers. Without this I have no idea where I'd be or how myopic my knowledge base would be. You push & make me think..... Oh & a great bunch of people too!!!

Another one. Thanks to Anthony Feherfor his years (decades) of support. ESPECIALLY when he dropped off a bottle of whiskey, early in the pandemic, to ensure I was taken care of for Canadian Group Insurance Brokers Friday Fun mtgs.

OK - my turn. Thanks to David "Dave" Patriarche (duh) - for GBGB....now the CGIB - I can't imagine the countless hours that has gone into running it over the years. Thanks to Rossana Margiotta - who was the first account exec that I had with Manulife (the first carrier that I was contracted with) who actually introduced me to Dave. As I work on my benefits startup, thanks to Scott Southward, Attie Jones, Christine Wyatt, Alaina MacKenzie, Mike McClenahan, Jaime Hugessen and others who have been great supporters. Thanks to Blake Waddell, Chris Gory, Lindsay Gibson, GBA, Irv Murphy, and Anthony Feher for keeping the breakfast meetings going. Switching from restaurant based to virtual was a step up that has helped keep advisors connected and continued the learning.
