We’re excited to share the 29th?edition of the agribazaar newsletter. The Future Agriculture Leaders of India (FALI) initiative is close to our hearts. As an organization, FALI aims to make agriculture attractive to students and their parents by promoting it as a career choice for the youth.?It is encouraging to see the Indian youth bring fresh ideas and innovations to drive India’s agricultural growth. We take a look at the convention held recently and what it means for the future of agriculture in India.

FALI Convention, Jalgaon

The Future Agriculture Leaders of India (FALI) initiative is backed by some of the industry’s leading corporations providing technical and financial support. FALI provides education, scholarships, incentives, events, and competitions to promote agriculture. The FALI Convention is an annual event that brings together the brightest minds from various schools. Over 1000 students participated in competitive events this year, with over 60 industry leaders serving as judges.

The success of FALI can be seen in the numbers:

  • Over 9,000 students from 155 schools presented 2,265 agri-business plans in the business plan competition
  • 87 agricultural educators manage operations of 2 to 3 schools in various districts of Maharashtra and Gujarat
  • An alumni base of over 33,000 students
  • Organized nearly 2,000 field visits for students in the last year
  • 1,628 students prepared 821 technological innovations in school-level competitions
