Humanity has solved many of its problems so far thanks to cooperation. Complex problems have been overcome by bringing together diverse individuals, groups, communities, and even nations, which pooled their resources, knowledge, and skills.
?
In today's world, where huge problems trigger each other, we need an approach that takes cooperation even further. And that's why the most emphasized concept of this year’s Davos Summit was “radical collaboration”. Radical collaboration is a type of collaboration that is more innovative, pushes boundary, approach to cooperation that transcends hierarchical structures and traditional methods.? We can describe the emphasis on this concept at the Summit, themed “Rebuilding Trust,” can be described as an effort to foster hope even in times of hardship and to create a collective vision for the future.
?
We need radical collaboration very much, because the problems highlighted in the WEF’s Global Risks Report, such as extreme weather events and misinformation, can only be addressed with multifaceted and integrated solutions. Our need for innovation and dwindling trust in the independence of science remind us of the importance of acting together and rebuilding trust. The way to overcome challenges like global warming, wars and misinformation is through radical collaboration.

Discussions on energy transition demonstrate the importance of transitioning to clean and renewable energy, reminding us of the value of every step we take for our planet. For example, this year, many venture capital funds investing in green technologies, startups and impact investors that will enable the energy transition came to Davos. The presence of these green tech investors at Davos signals a shift towards sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions in the economy.
The opportunities and risks presented by quantum technologies and artificial intelligence, two other frequently mentioned topics at Davos, emphasized the potential transformative power of these advancements on societies and industries.

Nearly half of the world’s population will go to the polls this year. I think it is very critical how the leaders to be elected will direct global policies, especially the fight against climate change. This shows us that the necessary global transformation cannot occur without collaboration among governments, businesses, academia, and civil society.
These discussions hold great importance for Türkiye. Türkiye has the potential to contribute significantly to sustainable development by actively participating in this global economic and environmental transformation. Steps to be taken in areas like energy transition, artificial intelligence, and green technologies will shape the country’s economic and environmental future.
