Shaping the future of healthcare with technology, innovation, and collaboration
To shape a bright future for healthcare, we need to embrace emerging technologies, encourage innovation, champion diversity, and promote collaboration.
This month, I had the privilege of attending the Gartner symposium in Barcelona. The event was buzzing with generative AI, digital platforms, new business models, and digital marketplaces. The fact that 87% of healthcare and technology leaders are either adopting or considering industry cloud platforms only proved the important role these platforms play in reshaping our future.?
In this sense, it was inspiring to see Gartner present the case of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust utilising the digital health platform approach to transform their healthcare IT. The Christie has used Better openEHR-based digital health platform and low-code tools to design, develop, and deploy an ePROM solution in 4 months. It also selected Better Meds for its electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) solution. I am very proud to be part of this transformation, and I can't wait to witness their next steps.??
Being a product lead in a healthcare IT company can be challenging sometimes. So one of the highlights of the symposium, a keynote speech by Martina Navratilova, one of the greatest tennis players of all time and an inspiring woman, really touched me. She told us that to be a champion, you must adjust, step out of your comfort zone, enjoy both the journey and the final result, have a great support system, and live in the moment - great advice to follow in business and life. ?
I realised even more that we need to champion both women and men equally on all levels because we have the knowledge, skills, and willingness to change things for the better. We have amazing, knowledgeable, and dedicated people in the Better team, and one such is my colleague Francesca, who we present in Better People.?
