Shaping the Future of Flying in Hamburg

Dear Subscribers,

We hope you had a relaxing summer! The holidays are well and truly over and the pace at Hamburg's aviation cluster is picking up again. Just yesterday, for example, Airbus celebrated the inauguration of a new equipping hangar for the A321XLR in Finkenwerder, while Hamburg Airport recently announced upcoming changes to its top management team in 2024.

Among the other top news since our last newsletter: Hamburg's Senator for Economic Affairs and Innovation Melanie Leonhard visited Safran Nacelles in Hamburg. Over the summer, students presented visionary ideas at the DLR Design Challenge at ZAL. And the colleagues from the Qblue project teamed up with partners to present OpenLab Mobile, a roadshow to showcase digital manufacturing techniques.

A topic that is particularly close to our hearts is sustainable aviation. In our new image film launched this week, we wanted to focus on some of the many projects in Hamburg helping to put our industry on a path towards decarbonization.

But we also wanted to show that while the challenges before us are vast, so is the heartfelt commitment of the people working here every day to dramatically reduce the environmental impact of flying. Find out more about some of the many sustainable aviation projects in Hamburg here. Watch our new film, "Shaping the Future of Flying in Hamburg" here or below (you may have to accept cookies first).

Wishing you a fantastic Friday,

Finnja Czacharowski, Angus Baigent and the Hamburg Aviation Team
