Shaping a Career with Purpose and Human Connection

Hi friends, it's been busy and I'm feeling blessed.
And as I am wrapping up the final quarter of the calendar year, I've been spending time thinking about the evolution of the work environment and the changing values of new employees and experienced ones, and vast world of AI and technology converging together all at once.
As I speak and coach senior leaders, individuals and artists, I've learnt so much from our partnerships and it inspires me to learn more about how this evolution continues in the future.
As a young professional, I didn’t have a set path or a blueprint for success of human connection nor navigating a complex corporate culture.
I sought out mentors and leaders who were generous with their time, knowledge, and insights. That said, I've spent a lot of time figuring things out on my own and learning from my many mistakes.
These shaped my thinking, helped me define my values, and set the foundation for how I approach leadership and the human connection with people today.
One of the frameworks I developed over time—seen in this diagram—became a touchstone in my corporate career, from leading marketing teams to serving as a Managing Director. I also use it in my coaching sessions to help others understand the pillars of a strong, human-centred organisation.
.
Here’s a quick overview of this framework:
The Pillars of a Human Organization:
Well-Being: Starting with the question, “Are you OK?” we recognize that well-being is essential for trust, which is at the heart of effective teams and thriving organizations.
Work: By asking, “What barriers can I remove to help you succeed?” leaders can facilitate results-driven work that empowers individuals.
Culture: Creating an engaging culture involves asking, “What do you like, want to change, or evolve about our culture?” This allows team members to feel valued and committed.
This serves as the foundation of the intricate relationship between people and performance. The bond between results and engagement.
This approach encourages open communication and focuses on the people behind the work.
Whether in corporate or coaching environments, this framework reminds me that impactful leadership starts with understanding, listening, and fostering a space where people feel seen and heard.
I hope this is helpful to you reading this. Have a great day.

That's to bring the people around them UP "including themselves". Because in the overall system of progress, we fight better when everyone is stronger. ???? Understanding people and letting them understand who you are and what you are doing, keeps it all within the line. Your view is spot on with people management. Thanks for the great share and looking forward to more insightful shares from you. ?????? Oh.. and a reminder.. Keep spreading the BIG SMILE always!??
Coincidentally I had a discussion last evening with a group of friends about the phrase ‘are you ok?’ I agree with you that it should be from a position of trust and concern for well being. Sadly, it can also be used to question someone’s ability to perform. Intention is key.
