In this edition of 'Inside our World of HR' we discuss one of the greatest assets of a strong HR professional, and one of the most sought after soft skills by business leaders....#influencing .??

'Influencing skills' can be one of the most challenging skills to seek when you are hiring? it goes far beyond technical experience ? and a bulletproof CV ? Its a question some candidates struggle to respond to and an area some interviewers struggle to probe.???? So lets aim to get a solid understanding here of what influencing should mean within the HR tool kit:

??. ???????????????? ??????????: HR leaders have a key role to play in building trust between the leaders in the business, the wider management teams and the wider workforce. By establishing trust and credibility, HR leaders can influence decision making, facilitate open communication, and foster collaboration among stakeholders. ????This trust can potentially lead to improved #performance , increased innovation, and a more positive work environment. ????Also, this may be one of the key reasons why 'culture' has become such an important facet in the HR function.

???? ?????????????? ???????? ???? ?????????? ???????????? ???? ?????? ???? ?????????????????? ?????????????? ??

??. ?????????????????? ????????????????: In creating this type of #culture , HR leaders need to accept the fact feedback needs to be delivered;?? whether or not it feels comfortable to do so, and this should come back to whether or not you are truly coaching your management teams. Feedback to leadership teams, business owners, and CEOs on their performance, behavior, and decision making can flesh out insights into areas for improvement. Of course, feedback should be delivered effectively, constructively and as supportive as possible.

??. ?????????????????? ?? ???????????? ??????????????: HR leaders can help cultivate a #growthmindset among their leadership teams. This style of influencing can impact a workforce dramatically encouraging continuous learning, ability to embrace change, become more innovative and take risks.???? Experts in the field of 'Growth Mindset' workplaces are proving time and time again the linkage between fostering a growth mindset and increased performance & job satisfaction.

??. ?????????????????????? ??????????????????????????: It is no surprise that a #hr leader who builds trust, provides feedback and fosters a growth mindset can create a more collaborative culture??. Think about your current #ELT and what they define as collaboration in your circle? Strong influencers in HR can drive collaboration and facilitate group ideas, discussions and decision making. HR can influence leaders to share that voice to employees across the business and although that decision making responsibility should still fall into the hands of the leader, they get a full suite of options to consider. Employees who feel they have a voice ?? have been linked to high performance and increased job satisfaction.

??. ?????????????????? ????????????: One of the easiest ways to #influence is through the art of demonstrating your expertise in HR. How you understand?? approach?? and execute a HR matter ??can increase your ability to influence. Of course, experience can be a huge factor here but are you truly confident to make that informed decision? Do you back yourself? The fact is, if you don't influence yourself, its highly unlikely you will another leader. ??...so BACK YOURSELF and you will do wonders ????

Shane O'Neill great and well thought out content. I think we forget the importance of soft skills in many roles and how they are just as valuable as "hard" skills.
