Shaking up enterprise software - AI Agents, Best-of-Breed Suites, and “one more thing"
We are into a busy week with Dreamforce 2024 and Workday Rising. As an enterprise software geek and the founder of rtZen (www.rtZen.ai) I am seeing some fascinating trends emerge?
- AI agents will revolutionize enterprise workflows
Marc Benioff's recent announcement of Salesforce's "hard pivot" to AI agents signals a major shift. These autonomous agents promise to automate complex tasks across sales, service, and operations. At rtZen, we're uniquely positioned to deliver and integrate AI agents with our real-time cash flow optimization platform, amplifying their impact and unbundling siloed products across cash management, AP and AR.? As AI and automation accelerate, the ability to act on data in real-time and integrate workflows will separate leaders from laggards. rtZen's core focus on real-time data, automation and insights puts us at the forefront of this shift, enabling companies to make faster, smarter decisions in this rapidly evolving landscape
2. "Best-of-breed suites" with integrated workflows will emerge as winners
Moving beyond the traditional "suite vs. best-of-breed" debate, we'll see the rise of "best-of-breed suites." These solutions can be adopted as one single suite or as a collection of best-of-breed modules seamlessly integrated.? In both cases they would provide comprehensive visibility and insights across the modules. rtZen's flexible platform is designed to support this hybrid approach, enabling companies to maximize their cash flows without compromise.
Recently, Klarna’s CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski announced that they would be replacing their Salesforce and Workday implementations with a combination of AI, standardization, and simplification.? That seems to validate both the points above of having AI agents and a “lightweight tech stack†as he described can be seen as a best-of-breed suite with integrated workflows.?

One more thing…
So that brings us back to Salesforce and Workday as they featured in the announcement and they both have their annual customer event starting as I write this.? How should they respond?? Imagine a bold move, “dig if you will, this picture of†- Salesforce and Workday engaged as one.? This would give them an instant best-of-breed suite across CRM, ERP and HR.? That would make competition like SAP & Oracle take notice.? It would also set them up well to shift the long-term roadmap towards more modular, best-of-breed suites with purpose-driven AI agents that can be deployed for CRM, ERP, and HR. Did I just say Salesforce and Workday should merge?? Might be a stretch on that one data point, but if you look at the trends and the need for both these companies to continue to grow - it may not be too much of a “let’s go crazy†thought.
What are your thoughts on these trends? How do you see AI, agents and real-time data reshaping enterprise software? Let's discuss! While I'll miss Dreamforce in SF this week, I'm looking forward to exploring these themes at Workday Rising. So if you’re in Las Vegas this week let’s grab a coffee and do this in person!? Of course if you are looking to reimagine finance operations with AI and automation please reach out, comment here or send me a DM.?
The enterprise software world is evolving rapidly, and rtZen is poised to help companies navigate this exciting new landscape.

5 个月The phrase chaos is a ladder feels to fit this time. For providers and customers there is a substantive advantage to be had from being early AND right in your specific market. Impact of the internet in half the time - will require different rules for innovation. No lock-in, preserving optionality and not letting perfect be the enemy of speed are top of mind.
