A Shakespearean Opera where Children are the Inevitable Losers
The month of March has set in and whatever hope our Grade 12's (of 2024) had of continuing their studies is slowly fading with the passing of each day.?The hope and expectation they had in January and February are slowly becoming but a distant memory. It is now about 'what are my options?'. And the sad reality is that those options are very limited.
But, there is a glimmer of hope! The W&R Seta is gearing up for a defining moment in its 20 odd years since its existence. With the new migration into the QCTO landscape...opportunities might become available to the next generation of retailers.?The new revamped qualifications will bring a fresh approach to education and training. If you look at the strides made on the digital and technology side, you can't but feel optimistic that business SA might pull another rabbit out of the hat for our beleaguered youth.
Let's hope that those barriers of financial instability, financial stress and outright humiliation can be dealt with by creating opportunities for our unemployed compatriots. . It's no secret that we need to take a different approach or that a big paradigm shift is needed or else...
We can not allow our people to stare into the abyss and sing 'Kumbaya'!!
