"History is written by winners." This familiar phrase echoes through generations, shaping our understanding of the past and influencing our perception of the present. Yet, I propose a crucial addition:
"The most known history is written by winners."
What does this mean? While victorious narratives dominate, fragments of untold truths lie buried, waiting to surface. Over time, history—or our collective understanding of it—changes as new truths emerge. But this evolution isn't organic; it is often manipulated, weaponized by political parties to overthrow governments, and by power-seekers to control the masses.
Consider this: what if the entire truth, unvarnished and complete, came to light?
The Pandora’s Box of Truth
If the past were laid bare, free from the distortions of power and perspective, manipulation would cease. To lead or inspire the masses, leaders would have to focus on the present and future. Imagine a world where history holds no secrets, no pandora's box to be weaponized.
But truth is a double-edged sword. Who dares to unveil it? Who is pure enough to wield it without being tainted by its revelations?
"You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." — John 8:32. Freedom comes with truth, but so does the responsibility of handling it wisely.
The Right to Truth: A Fundamental Need
The pursuit of truth should be our fundamental right, embedded in the very fabric of our societies. Yet, who will enforce this? Governments? Institutions? Or perhaps, us—the people?
Here lies the paradox: for the masses to demand truth, they must first value it over comforting illusions. As Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “Sometimes people don't want to hear the truth because they don't want their illusions destroyed.”

History shows us that when the past consumes the public consciousness, it blinds them to the future. Power thrives in this fog of nostalgia and selective memory, perpetuating cycles of control and stagnation.
The Challenge of Enforcing Truth
To break this cycle, the power to enforce truth must rest with the people. But for that to happen, we must educate, inspire, and shift our focus away from a glorified past to a shared future. This requires collective courage—a willingness to question, challenge, and dismantle the narratives that divide us.
As George Orwell noted in 1984, "Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past."
Thus, to control the future, we must seize the present and liberate the past from the clutches of manipulation.
A Call to Action
So, who will we entrust with the power to shape our narratives? Or, should we be the ones to take responsibility?
To do so, we must rise above the inertia of historical fascination and direct our collective energies toward the future. Only then can we break the chains of cyclical manipulation and create a world where truth prevails.
The truth isn't just a destination; it's a journey—a relentless pursuit that demands our courage, vigilance, and unity.
Let’s start this journey today.
