The Shadow Of The Ice Kingdom
Part 4: The Kingdom In The East
Sam Belthor is confronted by six guards, the Captain orders, "Sam, you are guilty of assassinating King Robert and are suspected of the murder of King Henry! Come with us and face trial for your crimes." Sam responded loudly, "I did not murder anyone! You have the wrong person! I was just hunting and selling my meat products to the local markets! I also won't be going with you to face a one sided trial to be convicted of doing nothing." The Captain replied, "Kill him!" An arrow flies from the treeline, pierced through the skull of the Captain. Belthor pulled out his sword, swings it, deflecting the blow from a guard's sword. The blades cling and clang, as sparks fly from the iron and steel blades connecting. The bartender from before runs towards Sam, he draws his sword and helps fight back against the guards. A guard slips behind the bartender, Sam swings and sliced the guard's shoulder, blood gushes from a deep wound, Sam blocked the other guards while saying, "Paul, are you okay? Can you get up?" Paul stands up, shoved his blade through Sam's clothing, killing the guard that is struggling with Sam, blood dripped through Sam's clothes. Paul pulled out his blade, then swung the blade into the last guard, slicing off his head. Paul says, "Sorry for doing that Sam, I didn't see any other way to deal with those last two." Sam tears off his shirt, "Oh well, I will ask my wife to make me a new one. We can't stay here anymore, now I have to find another village to settle down at. I will meet you at the school, we need to gather your family and mine." Paul responds, "I will go with you to get our family members, but it would be best if we went our separate ways. If we stayed together, it would just get us both caught. We have other allies, we can use them to keep in contact. We may need their help too, more than ever." They both head off into the wilderness.
A guard rushed to the throne room, "Prince Henry, we lost six of our guards to Sam Belthor!" Henry yells, "Damn it Sam! I don't fully suspect him, but how can I forgive him for not trusting my men! He would have had a fair trial! I heard the news about Wallace being crowned the new King of Glacierland. I know my dad suspected him most of all. Sam Belthor was an honourable man. There is no way he would turn on Robert or my father. I still believe he is innocent but he crossed a line by attacking my men." A man dressed in armor and decorated with medals approached the throne, "Prince Zovnek, I am sending troops to the corners of every village on our land. We are going to conduct a very thorough search to find Sam. If we don't find him, we will contact Marianne and discuss the incident about Sam." The Prince replied, "Don't inform them that we suspect them of being the murderers." The General left the castle, a large entourage rode with the General towards the West. They arrived at Marianne's castle. The General is escorted to the throne, "What sends you here, General Drake Siegmund?" He replied, "I have news about Sam that I wish to share with King Wallace." She responded, "He went off to search for my missing daughter. He probably is at the Grete Island. My daughter was engaged to the Prince there, but her father was outspoken about their relationship. He forbid them from seeing each other. Wallace on the other hand, he doesn't care who she wants to marry." The General speaks up, "Your Highness, Sam Belthor attacked and killed six of our guards. We are currently conducting a large brigade sized hunt for his whereabouts. We suspect he is also responsible for the death of King Henry Kovnek II." Marianne replied, "I heard about his death from my men, which they are still on the hunt for Sam. We have sent a battalion, but will match your brigade with our own. He must be held accountable for his treason!"
A Royale Knight yells, "King Kaan! Your son has been killed! Some of your scouts reported that they saw the man that took your daughter-inlaw, who rode on a dark colored horse. We heard from some other scouts say that they saw Wallace on the mainland." The King stands up, "Go hunt down Wallace! Bring me his head! Then send his head to the Kingdom of Glacierland, to send a message to King Robert and Queen Marianne! I know they disapproved of their marriage arrangement!" A large battalion of soldiers strutted through the mainland wilderness. Wallace rides off towards the West. He rides into the castle courtyard, dismounted his horse, then hands the horse to his servant. The servant drags the horse into the barn. Wallace walked into the throne room, and sits down next to Marianne, "Honey, we have a serious problem. I just ran into a large group of King Kaan's soldiers. They shot arrows at me, and tried to attack me in close combat. It seems he won't let your daughter return. I never got a chance to talk to Kann, but it seems he doesn't understand that we approve of their engagement. So we have a large brigade of soldiers marching to our land. They seem to want to start a war with us. I guess King Kaan must want our land as his now. He was always a selfish man! A doofus. Shall we retaliate?" Queen Marianne replied, "Yes, have our soldiers redirect their search from Sam Belthor, to King Kann's soldiers. We have to defend our land. Also, General Stephan! I need you to send messengers to Prince Henry III, inform him of the invasion, see if he will help us fight off the invaders. We both find King Kaan as a nuisance." Stephan replied, "Yes my Queen, I will send my Squires to inform our soldiers as well as inform Henry III, and his General's. King Kaan is messing with the wrong Kingdom!" The General had six Scribes write down the information, they hand the scrolls to six Squires, who ride off in different directions. A fire burns off in the distance from the Kingdom, lighting up the night sky with ashes, smoke and flames!
