Much love to the Shab-e She’r team for their hard work and dedication: Mārta Ziemelis (door, set-up, land acknowledgement), Cy Strom (door, set-up, silent auction of artwork for Woman, Life, Freedom poetry anthology), Man Ma (set-up, photography), Roxana Khoshravesh (posters, stamp). Thanks always go to Paola Gomez for the beautiful donations box.

?

Huge thanks to the features Donna Langevin and David Delisca who accepted to join us, spread the word, and helped us create community. Much love to Donna Langevin for her generosity in donating her honorarium to the fundraiser for Woman, Life, Freedom: Poems for the Iranian Revolution. (If you wish to follow suit, here is the link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/woman-life-freedom-anthology ). This is from Donna’s post on social media: “I loved featuring at Shab-e-She’r last night. Many thanks to my host B?noo Zan and her team who all made me feel so welcome and comfortable. My co-featured poet David Delisca was riveting and had the fairly large audience spell-bound, and the open set readers were well-worth hearing.”

?

Thanks to the Tranzac for the beautiful space.

?

Thanks to all who spread the word and brought friends and family to the event. If you notice the absence of communities and individuals who need to be included, feel free to invite them to our events. Diversity is only as diverse as our outreach. At Shab-e She’r, no one is an outsider.

?

Our upcoming event is on March 27th, at the Tranzac Club, Toronto, featuring Hanan Hazime and Joshua Chris Bouchard. We also have 20 open mic slots for poetry in any language. Join us and bring friends. Here is the link to the Facebook event: ? https://fb.me/e/6rCDoDUkU

See you,
