I also performed a poem at the end of the night.
Much love to Shab-e She’r team for their hard work and commitment: Glen Gary (posters), Mārta Ziemele (Land Acknowledgment and door), Jackleen Salam (door), and Yecid Ortega (photography).
Thanks to Guernica Editions, the Ontario Poetry Society, and the Invisible Publishing for their gift of books to our features; to Tranzac for the space; and to Colin (technician).
Huge thanks to all who spread the word and helped us reach communities and individuals, and all who helped with the chairs at the end of the night.
Shab-e She’r is a grassroots movement for diversity and courage in Toronto. We depend on our audience for community building. The admission fee goes towards rent first and the rest is divided equally among the features. Please feel free to spread the word about our mission and our events.
Mark your calendars for our 7th anniversary event on November 26, 2019, featuring poets Charlie C Petch and Tunchai Redvers and musician Kianoush Khalilian. Rumour has it that there may even be a cake!
Much love,
