Shab-e She’r March 2022 Report
Shab-e She’r Nowruz Celebration on March 29, 2022, was a truly unforgettable event.
Featured poets Ayomide Bayowa and Tawhida Tanya Evanson transported us to the world of truth and beauty, the same world that featured dancer Promita Kar invited us to inhabit. We celebrated Nowruz with glorious poetry and dance.
We also had wonderful poetry shared by our open mic’ers:
1.???Elisha Alladina
2.???Zen Alladina
3.???Kate Duncan
4.???Chro Zand
5.???Kurosh Amoui (translation of Reza Baraheni)
6.???Aiesha Bristol
7.???Hazrat Wahriz
8.???Robyn Kaur Sidhu
9.???Brenda Clews
10. Nick Micelli
And I shared a poem at the end. Then, we engaged in a spontaneous Q & A in which our features and open mic’ers shared wonderful insight.
Gratitude to all who purchased tickets to support the event, those who spread the word via social media and other means, and those who attended to support other poets and to share their own creation.
Much love to our features who accepted to join the lineup and enriched us with their poetry and dance.
Big love to Shab-e She’r team: Mārta Ziemelis, Rula Kahil, Gavin Barrett, and Paul Edward Costa, for their unfailing commitment to community and their work behind the scenes and during the event.
Our next event is scheduled on April 26, 2022. It is a celebration of poetry month featuring Robyn Kaur Sidhu and Armand Garnet Ruffo, with an open mic for poetry in any language.
Mark your calendars and invite friends.
Much love,
B?noo
