Tech for Sustainability

SMEs struggle with adhering to sustainability standards because of financial constraints and a lack of clear metrics for ESG reporting.

To tackle this challenge, SGTech recommends establishing a joint public-private task force aimed at creating a centralised platform for national sustainability regulations.

SGTech also advocates for a collaborative effort led by government bodies and trade associations and chambers (TACs) to provide SMEs with guidance on sustainability reporting criteria, utilising technological tools.

Tech Talent

Traditional academic routes are starting to become obsolete in a rapidly evolving tech landscape. To keep up with the pace, we need to enhance workforce resilience and adaptability.

SGTech proposes the adoption of skills-based approaches, creating flexible career paths alongside academic routes.

SGTech also proposes an active role for TACs. This includes providing resources such as playbooks, raising industry awareness, and supporting programs promoting talent development.

Digital Trust

Singapore is one of the leading trusted business hubs in the world yet there is still a lack of infrastructure and clear strategies to expand digital trust.

In response, SGTech strongly recommends a multi-disciplinary approach, beyond cybersecurity defence. This includes developing a secured talent pipeline that is up to date with talent reporting and digital trust certification standards for businesses.

SGTech also believes in the importance of appointing of a Chief Trust Officer to lead the charge. Having a dedicated professional address key concerns, such as risk management and regulatory compliance, is crucial in building a secure and resilient economy in the digital era.

SGTech unveiled ‘Generative AI (GenAI) for the Tech Workforce’ resource guide, a dedicated initiative propelling digital transformation. Tailored for businesses, notably SMEs, it champions the adoption of GenAI and requisite training.

In response to the government's National AI Strategy 2.0, SGTech, serving as the Skills Development Partner, outlines key job roles and essential skills necessary for navigating GenAI's evolving landscape.

This move signifies SGTech's ongoing commitment to regional digital empowerment.

Developed in collaboration with SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and AI Singapore (AISG), the guide serves as a beacon for businesses embarking on GenAI integration journeys. Backed by insights from 30 pledging companies, it offers practical insights and resources essential for navigating the complexities of GenAI adoption. The guide encompasses three distinct use cases demonstrating GenAI's application in business solutioning, a comprehensive tech talent profile outlining requisite skills, and a spectrum of GenAI training resources tailored for employees.
