SGR's 10in10 on Servant Leadership Note - May 12th, 2023
Last week JJ Peters, SGR’s President of Executive Recruitment, gave a presentation to the Northwest Women’s Leadership Academy (NWWLA Leadership). For everyone at SGR, it was an honor to be represented before such a tremendous group.
The NWWLA’s primary purpose is to prepare women working in local government to advance to leadership positions. Women continue to be underrepresented in city/county manager and city administrator positions across the country. The academy and groups like it are working to change that by creating a pipeline of women ready to step into those leadership roles.
Their admission standards are high, and each class is small by design. JJ spoke to a cohort of 20 women in this year’s class. They’ll graduate soon and take their place among the other 133 NWWLA alumnae who have graduated from previous classes. And when an opportunity for a city or county manager or administrator position comes along, they’ll be better prepared to show what they can do.
At SGR, we’re proud to be able to support NWWLA in its commitment to helping women rise in local government. They provide a much-needed service that will help make it possible for more women to be ready to lead local government organizations at the highest level. We’re grateful for the opportunity to be a part of that effort.
Have a great week, everyone.
