SGH Welcomes our new Head of Finance, Alison!?

Recently, we welcomed Alison Eyre to our SGH team as our new Head of Finance. We look forward to working with Alison and know she will be a fantastic asset to the team. We sat down with Alison for five minutes so that we could introduce her to you all! ?

SGH: Firstly, Alison we just want to say, welcome to the team - we're delighted you’ve joined us. Could you start by telling us a little bit about yourself??

Alison: I am a chartered accountant and spent most of my career in fast growing financial services businesses in London but also 5 years in New York.? I am now happily back in my native, Yorkshire. ?

SGH: Wow, New York and London and now Horsforth, saved the best to last if you ask me! Do you play any sports yourself??

Alison: ?I play a lot of tennis, mostly mixed or ladies doubles in league matches in both the Wakefield and Sheffield leagues.? I also love to ski, and I am a level 2 ski instructor having spent a season training in Canada before I was sidelined by an injury a few years ago.? I now stick to leisurely ski holidays, whenever I can.? I love to watch tennis and my ambition is to tick off as many tournaments as possible on the APT/WTA tours.?

SGH: and how’s that going? How many have you ticked off? ?

Alison: about 10 maybe, US Open, Paris Masters, Wimbledon, Barcelona, Majorca, and Nottingham but that’s not as glam as the others is it.

SGH: What would you like to tick off next? ?

Alison: I think the Italian Open in Rome, because why not. It’s in a beautiful city, it’s in the middle of summer, can’t ask for much more!?

SGH: I couldn't agree more, switch the strawberries and champagne at?Wimbledon to Pizza and Aperol Spritz in Rome, sounds perfect! Who would you say your sporting hero is? ?

Alison: Sticking with the tennis theme I would have to Roger Federer.? His title record speaks for itself, but his technique, variety and grace on the court really make him stand out.?

SGH: That’s a great choice, he is just remarkable, isn’t he?! What is your favourite sporting venue or stadium? ?

Alison: So far it would have to be Roland Garros, everything fell into place in terms of the weather, the matches I saw and the atmosphere inside the place.?

SGH: What would be your most special sporting moment??

Alison: To be honest I don’t really have one, but I hope there will be many in my future to choose from...?

SGH: I have no doubt there will be. Is there an SGH event that you are most looking forward to? ?

Alison: What to choose, too many to pick from. Hmm... I’ll say Augusta. It will be my first golfing event so why not make it the biggest one!?

SGH: Exactly, go big or go home! Incredible choice, we can’t wait to get back there in April. Alison, thank you for your time! We can’t wait to work with you. ?
