SFDC has begun the choking of its customers
I am sure historians will look back and say 'but of course' it would happen this way, but how many customers are waking up to 2016 with a surprise that the rate they are being asked to pay for their SalesForce license has gone up significantly?
Now that the project has gone live, and users are performing their work, the licensing gurus at SFDC have found the best way they can get that price back up on the market and keep the executives happy in the office is to of course raise rates. As opposed to what is happening in the PAAS market, where fierce competition and relatively easier portability of workloads, the prices have continued to drop or at least stay flat. SFDC on the other hand understands the sticky mess that they have engulfed the feet of their users in, and are now coming out with increases of 7 to 10% regularly, and you the unwitting user are defenseless, unless of course you want to build that application all over again somewhere else.
Do you have a new SFDC project about to kick off? Beware of the wolf in sheeps clothing.
