The Sexy Season of September & Fuel for Personalized Performance

The Sexy Season of September & Fuel for Personalized Performance

Happy September, WellMe community,

September is always a dynamic month! As the season starts to change, so too does the pace of our work, and sometimes the level of organization needed to keep everything running smoothly.

With that unleveling of the pace of our lives, our reliance on others starts to expand… as we share the joy of living, and sometimes the burden of the extra “to-dos” on our busy schedules.

The power of Community, the first of WellMe’s four core values, really shines in September. At WellMe, we define this as:

“We foster love, collaboration and connection among and between practitioners and members to improve health outcomes.”

However, the concept spans so much broader as well, and it’s all about perspective. For example, every morning I meditate to expand my circle of awareness and compassion… from my home to my household to the globe. And with it my sense of community expands with it, along with the love, collaboration and connection we seek to foster at WellMe each day.

Personalized Functional Wellness can mean many things to many people and we’ve got some great insights you can use for you this month.

HEALTH NEWS YOU CAN USE

For the modern human, the seasons are mostly recognized for weather changes— a favourite holiday period or perhaps a particular recreational sport.

For our ancestors, they meant so much more: adjusting life according to the seasons was essential for survival. They played a key role in the evolution of culture and important behaviours, such as sleep patterns, agricultural practices, and the availability of different foods.

Hypermobility & ADHD

NEW WELLME METHOD

Part of WellMe’s work to improve health involves compiling a library of the world’s best — and often little-known — scientifically-supported practices that can make a tremendous difference to a neurodiverse person’s performance and wellbeing.

For example, did you know that people with ADHD are much more likely to have issues with hypermobility — characterized by a forward-leaning neck and imbalances in the body? This can lead to pervasive back and neck pain, and can precipitate the development of poor posture?

A handy tip for those at work: place a rolled up towel between your head and the headrest… when it falls it tells you you’ve shifted your posture and may be slouching!

There are simple, actionable life changes that can improve troublesome ADHD symptoms. Interested to discover how WellMe works with people with ADHD?
