Sexuality — The Last Frontier of Being an Expressed Adult?
Dr Martha Tara Lee
Singaporean Chinese Relationship Counselor & Clinical Sexologist since 2009. Public Speaker. Author.
Sexual energy is often referred to as lifeforce energy.
Hence this is my definition of Sexuality: Your relationship with your lifeforce energy (the innate energy that resides inside you).
You can born with strong energy (nature) and/ or cultivate it (nurture) e.g. exercise/ food. Regardless whether you have strong/ weak energy (vitality), you can learn how to manage/ master/ channel it… and it can be channeled for greater fulfillment/ success/ mastery of self e.g. masterpieces, engineering, humanitarian work etc.
To me, it is one of life’s tragedies that we can learn/ master every other aspect of ourselves (mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, financial etc), but when the energy we were born with and continues to arise from within us – there is so much shame/ blame/ guilt/ misinformation about it.
I’ve said this before and I say this again. I am so passionate about sexuality education because it seems as if it is the last frontier of stepping into an adult – and that knowledge hasn’t been provided for most people.
As a born and bred Singaporean Chinese, I’ve also viewed it as my obligation and duty to share (especially with my fellow Asians) everything I know. Many need to recognise that positive sexuality, sexual expression and confidence is not a ‘western’ thing. You can still have their cultural/ religious/ familial values yet have positive attitudes and expressions around sex and sexuality – and still feel whole, complete, healthy and happy.
My work is to support as many people as I can. This is why I have produced a lot of content: from books (4), YouTube videos (700+), podcasts (3 years), written articles (countless by now), online freebies/ campaigns etc with the goal of educating/ sharing more to help more people.
Then of course, I am also available via private sessions (individuals/ couples) here.
Hint, hint… I am here to support/ help/ serve you – not judge. And you can find my workshops here as well.
