"Silence perpetuates violence. By raising our voices and holding each other accountable, we can build a culture where safety and respect are shared by all."
Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) is an intolerable violation of human rights, leaving deep scars on individuals, families, and communities.
At Orile-Agege General Hospital, we stand resolutely against such acts, driven by our commitment to dignity, safety, and justice for all. We are dedicated to addressing SGBV through comprehensive support for survivors and active community awareness.
In the fight against gender-based violence, the role of men is profoundly significant. Their determined expressions, marked by a commitment to protect and uplift, signal a powerful stance against abuse. When men embody respect, empathy, and active advocacy, they contribute to a society that values dignity and safety for all.
As partners and protectors, our men should intentionally foster environments where women feel calm and secure, supported by love and mutual respect. This partnership strengthens communities, showing that true masculinity is not defined by dominance, but by the courage to reject harmful behaviours and the resolve to champion equality and kindness. Through such actions, men play a critical role in creating a culture where violence has no place, reinforcing that the strength to protect others lies in compassion and unity.
Achieving meaningful change requires a societal shift where men actively act as protectors and advocates, challenging harmful behaviors and championing equality.
Together, we strive to create a culture where honoring and safeguarding women is the norm, ensuring no one faces such violence alone.
