We grew up in homes where money, sex, and politics were taboo subjects, forcing us to learn about them through our own mistakes, and the sometimes misleading counsel of friends and the media. But at what cost?

High rates of unplanned pregnancies, overwhelming debt, and political divisions that keep corrupt leaders in power.

I believe open conversations about these topics would drastically reduce these issues.

A lack of sex education and open communication leaves young people unprepared for the realities of adulthood.

This lack of guidance has led to a rise in single-parent households, often young mothers juggling work and child-rearing alone, and a significant number of men who, for various reasons, fail to be present fathers.

When conversations about healthy relationships and boundaries aren’t happening at home, young people are left with few tools to build and sustain lasting, responsible relationships.

And most importantly, most children don’t experience growing up watching a healthy marriage to emulate.

This cycle of ethnic-based voting is partly why some countries experience stagnant leadership, corruption, and lack of accountability.

It's time to break the silence on these crucial topics. For future generations, we need to create a culture of openness around sex, money, and politics in our homes.
