The seven year itch

In western cultures, there is a theory of the “Seven year itch”. It is about the period of increasing discontent, deterioration in relationships. In fact, there was a 1955 Marilyn Monroe movie of same name.
But that is a western concept. In Indian culture, seven means a greater bonding. In our marriages there is a ritual of 7 phere (the couple goes round the sacred fire seven times as they take vows). and with each phera the bond gets stronger, unbreakable. It is supposed to be ??? ?????? ?? ???, a bond lasting 7 lives. In Indian mytoogy, Seven signifies completeness. In contrast to the English movie, we also have our own Hindi movie “?? ??? ??? ?? ” portraying the exact opposite emotion. One of bonding and togetherness.
Why I am bringing this up today. Well I woke up to a flurry of well wishing messages from the company and colleagues about the seventh anniversary of my joining the company. Ofcourse the wishes are in Indian context and not the western context. The bond is stronger than it ever was. It's getting stronger. I am deeply grateful to the company and colleagues who have enriched my life for last seven years. I have learnt a lot. I have gained a lot. I owe my sustenance to the company. I owe my growth to the company.
To hell with the seven year itch.
