The Seven Spirits of God Series: The Manifestations of the SPIRIT

On this NEW 3 Part series of the Seven Spirits of God we will learn just what are the "Seven Spirits of God" according to Scripture! I promise the reader it will be a very fascinating Study about God's HOLY SPIRIT from the pages of the Bible.
"The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life." Job 33:4
The manifestations of the Spirit for the well-being of the church
The church is a unique organization. The church is not run like a business (like is the case of the United Church of God for example whose "Head" and "Leader" is simply called THE PRESIDENT just like a CEO instead of a more appropiate title like "Pastor General", "Presiding Evangelist", etc.). Scripture employs the image of a “body” to describe this unity (1 Corinthians 12:12-26). Each part of "the body of Christ" serves the others parts. The Spirit of Christ makes himself manifest and present, in what we call “the gifts of the Spirit.” It is necessary to learn from the apostle Paul two things:
1- “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.”
? To each one.
? The manifestation of the Spirit.
? Is given for the common good.
2- “All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and He gives them to each one, just as He determines.”
? All these are the work of one and the same Spirit.
? And he gives them to each one.
? Just as he determines.
The apostle stresses the point that the Spirit works, gives, and determines.
? The “gifts” are manifestations and work of the Spirit.
? Given to each one. In 2 Corinthians, 12: 1-13: Paul writes:
“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Ye know that ye were Gentiles (heathen nations), carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversity of gifts, but the same Spirit.
And there are differences of administrations but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh ALL in ALL. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another diverse kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But ALL these worketh that one and the self-same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
For as the body is ONE, and hath many members, and ALL the members of that one body, being many, are ONE body: so also is Christ. For by ONE Spirit are we ALL baptized into ONE body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles (heathen) whether we be bond or free; and have been ALL made to drink into ONE Spirit.”
Now notice verses 28-31: “And God hath set some in the church, first apostles (like I AM), secondarily prophets (as I AM also), thirdly teachers (I AM also a teacher), after that miracles, then gifts of healings (I also have been given the gift of healing), helps, governments, diversities of tongues (I also speak four languages).
Are ALL apostles? Are ALL prophets? Are ALL teachers? Are ALL workers of miracles? Have ALL the gifts of healing? Do ALL speak with tongues? Do ALL interpret? But covet earnestly the BEST gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.” The apostle Paul also admonishes those who are in a position of leadership in the church like me the following:
“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think: but to think soberly (very mature), according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
For as we have many members in ONE body in Christ, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are (just) ONE body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy (preach) according to the proportion of faith; Or if ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching. Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another; Not slothful (a lazy procastrinator) in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse NOT! Rejoice with them that rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
Be of the same mind one towards another. Mind not HIGH things, but (humbly) condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil.
Provide things honest in the sight of ALL men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with ALL men.” Romans, 12:3-18. So I have been criticized by many for saying that I AM an apostle of God (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead ;) (Gal. 1:1).
“For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the TRUTH (the PLAIN and SIMPLE truth): but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations (which God has given me), there was given to me a thorn in my flesh (I have this neuropathy from my Type 2 Diabetes on my left foot), the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities (and I do have plenty of them now) that the power of Christ may rest upon me (through His Spirit). Therefore I take pleasure in my infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I AM weak, then am I strong. I AM become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be NOTHING!” 2 Corinthians, 12: 6-11.
In Isaiah, the 11th chapter there is a prophecy concerning Jesus which reads:
“And there shall come forth a rod (a ruler and King, speaking of David) out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch (Jesus) shall grow out of his roots: And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make Him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and He shall not judge after the sight of His eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of His ears:
But with righteousness shall He judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and He shall smite the earth (at His second coming) with the rod of His mouth (Please compare with Rev. 19:15), and with the breath of His lips shall He slay the wicked (Compare with 2 Thessalonians, 2:8).
And righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the girdle of His reins.” Isaiah, 11:1-5
The Seven Spirits of God
Jesus speaks through His Spirit admonishing us in the greatest book of WISDOM ever written: the book of Proverbs:
“My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to (good) understanding: That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.” Proverbs, 5:1-2
Another instruction He gives us through this GREAT book is the following found in Proverbs, 7:1-5: “My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments and live; and my LAW as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart (mind).
Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman: That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.”
In chapters, 8 and 9 we get to see more about the Spirit of wisdom, let me remind the reader that when the Bible was written originally there were no chapters nor verses in it, men decided to add these to it!
Notice what we read in Proverbs, 8:1-36:
“Doth not wisdom cry? And understanding put forth her voice? She standeth in the top of high places by the way, in the places of the paths (of life). She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man. O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart (mind).
Hear, for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. For my mouth shall speak TRUTH (it is also the Spirit of TRUTH see John, 16:13); and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. ALL the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. They are ALL plain to him that understandeth (and “none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand, Daniel, 12:10), and right to them that find knowledge. Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
For wisdom is better than rubies; and ALL the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.” I would like to recommend you grab a copy of my book: More Precious than Rubies: The Wisdom of A TRUE Man of God You can get your copy at:
Verses 12-31:
“I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate (see the seven things that God hates in Proverbs, 6:16-19). Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I AM understanding; I have strength. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even ALL the judges of the earth (Compare with Daniel, 2:21-22). I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Riches and honor are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may also cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
The LORD possessed me in the beginning of His way, before His works of old. I was set from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: While as yet He had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. When He prepared the heavens, I was there: when He set a compass upon the face of the depth: When He established the clouds above: when He strengthened the fountains of the deep: When He gave to the sea His decree, that the waters should not pass His commandment; when He appointed the foundations of the earth: Then I was by Him, as one brought up with Him (Please compare also with Jeremiah, 10:12): and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him; Rejoicing in the habitable part of the earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.” Now verses 31-36: “Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors (inside his mind). For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the LORD. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul (Compare with Matthew12:32): ALL they that hate me love death.” In chapter 9:1-6 we read: “Wisdom hath built her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars: She hath killed her beasts (the beasts of the books of Daniel and Revelation); she hath mingled her wine (that's the wine of the wrath of God see Revelation, 14:10); she hath also furnished her table (Also compare with Revelation, 19:6-9). She hath sent forth her maidens (Please also compare with Matthew 25:1-13): She crieth upon the highest places of the city, whoso is Simple (Gullible), let him turn in hither: As for him (or her) that wanteth understanding, she saith to him (or her), Come, eat of my bread (the symbolic body of Christ), and drink of the wine (the symbolic blood of Jesus) which I have mingled. Forsake the foolish (things of the world), and live; and go in the way of UNDERSTANDING!” Now notice verses 10-11:
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the HOLY (Spirit) is UNDERSTANDING!” “For by me (WISDOM) thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.” We can read a similar scripture in Proverbs, 3:1-24: “My son, forget not my LAW; but let thine heart (mind) keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them upon thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart (mind): So shalt thou find favor and GOOD understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with ALL thine heart (mind); and lean not unto thine own understanding. In ALL thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths (through His Spirit in you). Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones (obedience produces healing in ALL your body). Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first-fruits of ALL thine increase (your tithes and offerings): So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with NEW wine (Please compare with Malachi, 3:10).
My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of His (stern) correction: For whom the LORD loveth He correctteth; even as a father the son in whom He delighteth (Compare with Hebrews, 12:5-11). Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth UNDERSTANDING!
For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold (there is a sort of frenzy of buying gold in the world as I write this). She is more precious than rubies (please get a copy of my book:
More Precious than Rubies: the Wisdom of A TRUE Man of God):
And ALL the things thou canst desire are not worthy to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and ALL her paths are peace. She is a tree of life (symbolic of God’s Holy Spirit) to them that lay hold upon her: And happy is every one that retaineth her. The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath He established the heavens. By His knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.
My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.” In chapter 13:13-16 we read: “Whoso despiseth the word (of God) shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded. The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. Good understanding giveth favor: but the way of transgressors is hard.
Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.”
2. The Spirit of the word of Knowledge and of the fear of the Lord
“The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of (godly) wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord” (Isaiah 11:2).
The Spirit of the Lord is the Holy Spirit. The other Spirits listed in this verse are describing the fullness of the Holy Spirit, with three streams flowing from each side. The attributes from each side are placed together in one Spirit to bring the balanced outpouring and fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Wisdom goes with understanding, counsel goes with might, and for this unique message, and knowledge goes with the fear of the Lord. It is this fullness of the Holy Spirit we should press into for our lives. “…that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:19).
You think that your stack of books can teach you everything, but there are some things only the Holy Spirit can teach you. Jesus promised, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things…” (John 14:26).
If you want a fuller knowledge of God, you need to have a greater filling of the Holy Spirit. Let this desire burn in your heart, “…be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18).
The Spirit of “Knowledge” and the Spirit of "the Fear of the Lord” do go together because without having the proper fear of God, we are truly indeed unable to even begin to understand the knowledge of God. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge…” (Proverbs 1:7). To gain worldly wisdom requires much effort, but to gain heavenly wisdom requires much submission.
“…put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him” (Colossians 3:10).
If you have a living faith, it will not flat-line with the knowledge of God. “That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him… increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10).
The more knowledge you have of God, the more you will fear Him. “That all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever” (Joshua 4:24).
We must fear the Lord before He can teach us. “Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses” (Psalm 25:12).
When you fear God, you will come to know God. “Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God” (Proverbs 2:5).
If you know God, it will show. “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love” (1 John 4:8).
Don’t let religion hinder your faith. “For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings” (Hosea 6:6). The more you know in advance, the less you will suffer the consequences afterward. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea 4:6). Fearing the Lord acknowledges His power over you. Knowing the Lord realizes His great love for you. With God, fear and love go together. “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him…” (Deuteronomy 10:12).
The unbeliever does not fear God but turns their back on Him. God said, “…you have forsaken the Lord your God, and the fear of me is not in you…” (Jeremiah 2:19). Fear men less, and fear God more. Jesus taught, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (the lake of fire)” (Matthew 10:28).
The problem today is people water down the idea of fearing the Lord by trying to lessen what the word fear really means. Fear means fear. “My flesh trembles for fear of you, and I am afraid of your judgments” (Psalm 119:120).
Fear of the Lord is the key that unlocks the secrets of heaven. “The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him…” (Psalm 25:14).
You cannot be holy apart from fear of the Lord. “…by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil” (Proverbs 16:6).
In Isaiah, 66:2 we read: “But to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.” Also in the same chapter verse 5 God says:
“Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at His word; your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but He shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.”
3. The Spirit of Counsel and Might
The Spirit of counsel and of might are also a GREAT pair. You can have all the counsel in the world, but without the strength to carry it out there is little you will accomplish. And conversely, you can have all the strength in the world, but without good counsel your strength will soon be your ruin.
This Spirit of Counsel and Might is not something you can grab hold of, but you are to be filled with. You cannot be filled of the Holy Spirit by your own efforts, but by His. “…that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man” (Ephesians 3:16).
The Spirit of Counsel and Might shows you what to do and then gives you the power to do it.
“I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you will keep my judgments and do them” (Ezekiel 36:27).
You know if you were led by the Holy Spirit by where you end up. “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it…’” (Isaiah 30:21).
The Holy Spirit can guide us if we would only follow. Jesus said, “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth…” (John 16:13).
God gives you lots of counsel and might together to build you, but the Devil will only give you one to destroy you. Where you lack balance things will really spin out of control. Balance requires pairs. “With Him are wisdom and strength, He has counsel and understanding” (Job 12:13).
Do you want to have the fullness of the Holy Spirit? Ask your Father in heaven and you will be surprised at how much He is longing to answer this prayer. Jesus taught, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:13).
You must listen for the Holy Spirit that you can hear His counsel. Jesus taught, “…do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say” (Luke 12:11-12).
The Lord prevails through your weakness and the world cannot understand. The Lord says, “…My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness…” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
When you are weak before God, He will be your strength before men. “He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength” (Isaiah 40:29). I can always tell someone who is weak in the Lord as they are strong in themselves. We cannot gain the fullness of the Holy Spirit so long as we are full of ourselves. Just because you impress men does not mean you have the approval of God. God doesn’t need your help, you need His. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you…” (Isaiah 41:10).
The apostle Paul put it very eloquently when he said: “Therefore I take pleasure in illness, infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians, 12:10)
4. The Spirit of Prophecy and Revelation
The Spirit of Prophecy: Revelation 19:10: “And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
The spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus Christ. Surely then, this statement shows us that prophecy in the Bible, and among Christians today should relate to what our Lord has spoken in His revealed Word. Prophecy exhorts, edifies and comforts. 1 Corinthians 14:3:
“But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.” The prophet’s job is to promote purity and to strengthen the church, which is exactly what the Word of God does. For example, we wash ourselves in the water of the Word. Notice this in Ephesians 5:26-27: “That he might sanctify and cleanse it (the church) with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”
We are strengthened in our faith as we imbibe more of the Word of God as we find in Romans 10:17: “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” We receive comfort and hope from the Word, which we areable to pass on to others as God has given to us. Here is a familiar scripture used to illustrate this point and another to show that God indeed does comfort us. Romans 15:4: “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”
In 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 the apostle Paul wrote: “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who has comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”
Therefore we see that prophecy is also the revealed Word of God, which is well contained within the Holy Bible, or a word given by an actual prophet who will point the receiver in the way of truth, and that demonstrates the office of a true prophet, which is one of the spiritual gifts of our Lord Jesus Christ through the gift of the Holy Spirit. Notice this in Ephesians 4:11-13: “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man (of God), unto the measure of the stature (height) of the fullness of Christ.” All of the five-fold ministry offices are responsible for perfecting the saints in some way or other, until we all come into the unity of faith and the fullness of Christ. Here, I must say that this is why we see such weak and faithless “spineless” Christians in the world, because most churches are of the opinion that these gifts ceased with the Apostles, yet they will acknowledge pastors, evangelists and teachers! The gift of prophecy is given by the Holy Spirit as He determines. Notice this in 1 Corinthians 12:10-11:
“To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the "interpretation" of tongues: But ALL these worketh that one and the self-same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will.”
All the gifts are given that we can profit by them. Notice this in 1 Corinthians 12:7: “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.”
Another version writes: “To each person has been given the ability to manifest the Spirit for the common good.” (ISV) When we look through scripture, we see many men were mouthpieces for God. They were used by God in various ways, but all were directed to bring about God’s purposes and plans. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 we read thus: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto ALL good works” Yes, everything they wrote and spoke was inspired by God. Their lives were not their own but devoted to doing God’s will. None of them had an easy time, but they all persevered until the end. You have only to look at the Apostle Paul’s life, in 2 Corinthians 11:23-27: “Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among many false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.” Here, I note that only the Apostle John did not die a violent death, sadly the rest were put to death. Similarly, the Old Testament prophets were also suffering servants; here are some examples:
Moses, when he was eighty years old, had to go and tell Pharaoh to let God’s people go. He then spent forty years walking around the wilderness with a stiff-necked people whom God was determined would not enter His promised land, because of their unbelief. Daniel was taken captive to Babylon as a young man and served four foreign Kings, Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar, Darius and Cyrus. He was greatly stretched, yet gained great favor by interpreting dreams, reading the writing on the wall and surviving being thrown into a den of lions, because God was with him. Consider Jeremiah– he was a young man who was not allowed to marry and all his prophecies from God fell on deaf ears. He was vilified for them, cast into prison and a dungeon, because they did not want to believe what he said. The prophet Isaiah went butt naked and barefoot for three years at God’s request. Notice this in Isaiah 20:3: “And the LORD said, like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia.” Elijah also had a hard time and great faith; He prayed, and it did not rain for three and a half years. He prayed again and the rain came to end the drought. He overcame the prophets of Baal and slew them.
He was hounded by Jezebel, who was determined to have his head cut off. He did mighty miracles; raised a child from the dead; parted the Jordan river and went over dry shod; called down fire from heaven, and, at the end of his ministry, he was taken straight up into heaven into another dimension in a chariot of fire (some sort of godly flying saucer as I’ve explained in some of my articles already).
Now off course, it is really not possible to chronicle all of the amazing feats of all God’s prophets here, but you must have noticed that it was not a cushy job with an easy luxurious living or one that you would take just for the title or prestige – it was a really hard life of faith and obedience to God! Yet, in todays’ traditional worldly churches many like to call themselves ‘the prophet’. Here I believe and think that they may be confused between the office of a Prophet, given by Jesus as His gift of “prophesying” (or preaching) to the church ministry, and the gift of prophecy.
The Apostle Paul said that we all can prophesy (preach), meaning through the gift of the Holy Spirit. Notice this in 1 Corinthians 14:31: “For ye (ministers and pastors) may all prophesy (preach) one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.” But there is another spirit that likes to bring confusion – the spirit of the “false prophet.” John tells us, in 1 John 4:1: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits (to see) whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
And not only false prophets but false teachers also, said Peter in 2 Peter 2:1: “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”
These work through false brethren as we read in Galatians 2:4 “And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus that they might bring us into bondage.” And even false Apostles who claim to be “Apostles of Christ”: 2 Corinthians 11:13-15:
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no GREAT thing if his ministers (Satan’s ministers) also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”
Jesus Himself warned of many false prophets in His Olivet prophecy regarding the end times in Matthew 24:11: “And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many.” Also in Matthew 24:24: “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
When we submit ourselves under any false ministry out there, we can get into bondage (see Galatians 2:4 above), because we have believed a lie, and have not tried the spirit. How do we do that? We must examine the fruit and the doctrine of their ministry.
Be like those in Berea to whom Paul preached, and who searched the scriptures daily to see if these things were true or false as we see in Acts 17:11: “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word (of truth) with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, (to see) whether those things were so.” The book of Isaiah shows us also how to discern when one is a TRUE minister and prophet of God in Isaiah, 8:20: “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” So what LAW is it referring to? “The TEN COMMANDMENTS” and to what testimony? “The testimony of Jesus Christ.” Prophecy and doctrine must line up with the Word of God and the fruit of the Spirit. As we have already seen in Galatians 5:22-24: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” Paul warns us not to be deceived in 2 Corinthians 11:3-4: “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtility, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” Therefore beware, said Jesus in Matthew 7:15-17: “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are just ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.” If you receive a prophecy, does it exhort, edify or comfort you? It may convict you and direct you into truth which is good. If it is "wild" and "wacky" and completely off the biblical scale ignore it and steer clear out of danger. A godly prophecy will sit well and bring you peace.
Remember, exhort, edify and comfort – key words which lead to truth.
As God’s TRUE Apostle and prophet I have recently prophesied many events and prophecies that would take place in this year of 2024. However if some do fail to come to pass and to happen as I have said and prophesied does that make me a “false prophet”? I want you to notice what Paul says about this in 1 Corinthians, 13:8-10: “Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall FAIL; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect (JESUS) is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.”
The Spirit of Revelations has been given to me as well and I have revealed many things in my articles, books, pod-casts and radio programs online and even on YouTube. Here is one of these revelations:
On one of my articles I had written this:
For ALL of these "GAY PRIDE" activities in NYC this is what God ALMIGHTY says He will do to New York City: "For He bringeth down them that dwell on high (the skyscrapers of New York City); the lofty city, He layeth it low (there has also been already GREAT floodings recently due to Tropical Storm: ELSA there), even to the ground; He bringeth it even to the dust." Isaiah, 26:5. So it seems to me God will ulimatelly send a BIG and GREAT earthquake upon New York City soon and will make it a very DAVASRARING ONE!
What did HAPPEN and Took PLACE recently in NYC!
NEW YORK, April 5 (Reuters) - A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck near New York City on Friday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey said, shaking buildings up and down the East Coast and surprising residents in an area that rarely experiences notable seismic activity.
The quake's epicenter was in Tewksbury in central New Jersey, about 40 miles (64 kilometers) west of New York City. It occurred just after 10:20 a.m. ET (1420 GMT) at a depth of 4.7 kilometers (2.9 miles), the USGS said.
