Seven qualities of highly successful entrepreneurs!
Statistically, if you run your own business, only 13% of you bring in more than $100,000 annually. Thirteen percent!!! Even if you're an outlier to this statistic, I can all but guarantee that this was not the?vision you held for your business.
Additionally, only 4% of all entrepreneurs get to $1 million in annual revenues. What a sad statistic because I meet entrepreneurs every day who are absolutely capable of hitting this goal but do not for a whole host of reasons.
How many of these qualities do you have mastered? Here are seven (and yes, there are more). Be honest!
?1 A clear and compelling vision for the business.
Creating a compelling vision is the hardest thing to define with 90% of the entrepreneurs I work with. What do you want to create beyond what you think is realistic? Being realistic ( I hate that word) leaves so much of your potential on the table. Les Brown says, " Shoot for the moon. Worst case scenario, you land among the stars." If you don't aim high, you're sure not to arrive there.?
?2 Strong leadership qualities
Leadership isn't just what you do; it's who you are being as the leader. There are a million and one books on leadership, yet we have a giant gaping hole of authentic leadership in business today. Leadership is empathy, being bought into and communicating a clear vision, an ability to enroll others in that vision, and an ability to coach others toward that vision (which means you also need to be coachable, to name a few. This type of leader can't be downloaded from a book or podcast. This type of leader is developed.?
?3 Know your strengths and weaknesses?
Many people I run into vaguely know their strengths but do little to identify their weaknesses. They often turn a blind eye, much less do something about bolstering their weaknesses in any meaningful way. You can imagine that keeps them pretty stuck in the situation they find themselves in - without forward momentum.?
?4 Endless curiosity and a willingness to learn
Curiosity is among the most powerful of these qualities. Ego often gets in the way because we make it mean something about ourselves if we don't know. The best, most successful entrepreneurs I know are endlessly curious and willing to learn from others.?
?5 Understand the value of a strong support network
Jim Rohn said, "you are equal to the five people you spend the most time with." Most entrepreneurs I encounter remain siloed. They stay on their little island, frustrated by the decisions they must make and their deficiencies in running a business. Being an entrepreneur can be very isolating. Crawl out from under your rock and lean on a curated support network. It will pay off, guaranteed.?
?6 Risk-taking and the willingness to fail
The old adage of low risk, low reward is true! We must be willing to risk and "fail" to grow and learn. You don't grow from our wins - you already know how to do that at your level. We're always looking to up-level. When we up-level ourselves and our abilities, we then can up-level our businesses and revenues. FAILURE is a necessary ingredient to growth. The suffering of a failure is optional.?
?7 Belief in yourself!!! I'll say it again... Belief in yourself!
What we think, we believe. What we believe we become. Belief informs all of the above. Belief is the most significant barrier to success there is. Find a way to believe in the potential you possess. You are capable. I now it to be true. Do you?
