How confident are you with settling the twins? Do you feel one is easier to settle than the other? One is developing a more predictable sleep structure than the other??
Do you get to rest??
Support with twins sleep is underestimated. While most people who offer help in the first few weeks or months mean well, lack of awareness of newborns’ sleep needs and structure can actually put a stick in your wheels when it comes to achieving good sleep.?
Newborns falling asleep in your arms and while feeding is perfectly natural and expected. And it may seem like you can’t do much about it.
Yet there are little things you can start notice and gently modify, to get them to start settle more independently. By that I mean, in their cot.?
If babies sleep in their cot, they develop a healthy relationship with their sleep environment, feel confident to wake up in it and settle in it, and maybe more importantly at this point- it frees you!?
Many newborn mothers find themselves bound to their babies because it’s easier to settle them in this way, and so they just stay like this. I get it.?
