Setting Up Meta (Facebook) Ad Account: Step-by-Step Guide

Welcome to Meta (Facebook) Ad Account Setup Guidelines.

In this article, you will find step-by-step instructions on how to get started with your Ad Account and what you need to do in order to run ads on Meta (Facebook).

STEP 1: META BUSINESS SUIT

1. Go to: https://business.facebook.com/

2. Click "LOG IN"

3. Choose how you want to Log In

4. Click "ALL TOOLS" Find "ADS MANAGER"

STEP 2: BUSINESS SETTINGS - PAGES

1. Click the Menu icon under the Home icon

2. Select "BUSINESS SETTINGS"

3. Navigate to "ACCOUNTS" then "PAGES"

4. Click "ADD" and select one of the options that best fits your case.

5. Type your Facebook Page name or URL to complete this step.

STEP 3: BUSINESS SETTINGS - AD ACCOUNTS

1. Navigate to "ACCOUNTS" then "AD ACCOUNTS"

2. Click "ADD" and select one of the options that best fit your case.

• If you select "ADD AN AD ACCOUNT" you will need your Ad Account ID
• If you select "CREATE A NEW AD ACCOUNT", follow the steps in the form

STEP 4: BUSINESS SETTINGS - PIXELS

1. Navigate to "DATA SOURCES" then "PIXELS"

2. Click "ADD" Name Your Pixel <Your Business Name_Pixel>

3. Click "CONTINUE" then "CONTINUE MANAGING MY BUSINESS

STEP 5: BUSINESS SETTINGS - PEOPLE

1. Navigate to "USERS" then "PEOPLE"
2. Click "ADD" then enter email addresses of people you want to give access to your Business Account
3. Depending on Business Role, check ADMIN ACCESS if needed then click NEXT

4. In the opened window, on the left side, Select Asset Type, starting with PAGES > CLASSIC PAGES

5. Then on the second column, Select Asset, and check the checkbox of the Page name you want to share.

6. Then on the third column, select permissions that best fits your needs. Selecting Full Control on the very bottom will automatically toggle all options on.

7. Before clicking Invite, repeat the same for Ad Accounts

• Pixels
• Domains
• Instagram Accounts
• Conversions (if needed)

STEP 6: BUSINESS SETTINGS - PARTNERS

1. Navigate to "USERS" then "PARTNERS”
2. Click "ADD" then select the option that best fits your case.
3. If you select "Give a partner access to your assets" you will be asked to enter your partner’s Business ID. You should acquire the 15 digit Business ID from your partner beforehand. Click NEXT

4. In the opened window, on the left side Select Asset Type, starting with PAGES > CLASSIC PAGES

5. Then on the second column, Select Asset, check the checkbox of the Page name you want to share.

6. Then on the third column, select permissions that best fits your needs. Selecting Full Control on the very bottom will automatically toggle all options on.

7. Before clicking Invite, do the same for Ad Accounts

• Pixels
• Domains
• Instagram Accounts
• Conversions (if needed)

8. If you select "Ask a partner to share their assets" you will be given instructions on the next steps.

9. Click "GET STARTED" and follow the steps.

STEP 7: INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS

1. Navigate to "ACCOUNTS" then "INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS"
2. Click "ADD" and Connect your Instagram Account

STEP 8: BRAND SAFETY - DOMAINS

1. Navigate to "BRAND SAFETY" then "DOMAINS"
2. Click "ADD" and type in your website domain. Click "ADD"

3. Once added, you will see instructions on how to add the meta tag to your website.

4. After adding the meta-tag, click "Verify Domain. It might take 24 hours for the Tag to populate.

STEP 9: BUSINESS INFO

1. Navigate to "BUSINESS INFO"
2. On the opened page click "EDIT"

3. Complete the Verification Process. Facebook will approve your business and soon you will see the status "Verified.

STEP 10: PAYMENT METHODS

To be able to advertise you will need a payment method attached to your account.

1. Navigate to "PAYMENT METHODS"
2. On the opened page click "Add Payment Method"

3. You will be asked to assign a Finance Editor, then add card details.
