Setting up the ccat command-line utility on our Alpine Linux virtual machine

Welcome back to another tutorial from our Alpine Linux explorations tutorial series.

This time we are going to run the ccat command-line utility on our Alpine Linux virtual machine.

Ccat is a command-line utility for Linux that enhances the display of text files, allowing syntax highlighting, line numbering, and output customization, making it easier to read and analyze code and other text files.

Ccat can be useful for programmers, system administrators, and anyone working with text files.?

It enhances the readability and analysis of code and other text-based files by adding syntax highlighting, line numbering, and customizable output.?

This makes it easier to identify patterns, spot errors, and understand the structure of the file.?

Ccat can also be integrated into various workflows and scripts to improve text processing and analysis tasks.

Now we shall use ccat on our Alpine Linux virtual machine execution environment.?

?We need to complete several steps to get it working correctly.

1. We need to power on our Alpine Linux virtual machine from the Oracle Virtual Box Manager.

2. Once our Alpine Linux virtual machine execution environment has fully booted we are ready to begin the process – system ready.

Login to our Alpine Linux Virtual machine

?3. We need to open the Linux Terminal.

Open the Linux Terminal

4. We need to switch to the root user to run the necessary commands to install the ccat software correctly.?

5. We first need to update our Alpine Linux virtual machine execution environment. First, run the command ‘apk update’.
