Setting Our Minds on Things Above

Setting Our Minds on Things Above

"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." - In Colossians 3:1-2 NIV

It is so easy for us to be consumed by the demands of life. We may find ourselves preoccupied by so many things that are temporary. The Apostle Paul reminds us in these verses that our true citizenship is in heaven. Everything we face in this world is temporary.

Think about the things going on in your life right now. And how your perspective changes if you view things through lens of eternity. When we fix our eyes on Christ and the eternal glory that awaits us, our present experiences begin to pale in comparison. We find hope knowing that our future is secure in Him.

Living with this eternal perspective transforms everything. The way we use our time and resources. Instead of pursuing selfish ambitions or seeking temporary gratification, we are motivated to invest ourselves in God's kingdom and His purpose for us.

Let us strive to live each day with an eternal perspective, seeking to honor God in all that we do.
