Set up your desk for better productivity

It is said that adults spend nearly 40% of their day at work. Most of you spend this time sitting on a chair and staring at your monitors. When more than one-third of your day is spent like this, even the smallest things like the height of your chair or desk, the position of your monitor, the color of your wall or the lighting can greatly affect your health, mood and thus productivity.

There have been studies, that show, staring at green increases creativity and inventiveness. So, you can ensure this by painting your walls green or putting a green wallpaper; There is nothing like it if you can set up your desk next to a window where enough vegetation can be found. This also increases the amount of natural light, which encourages alertness & focus. Also, you can try to include live plants around your desk which soothe both your eyes and lungs.

Having photographs of loved ones at your desk has a huge phycological significance. As the infographic itself says, it reduces stress and negative thoughts.

Although a well-organized and tidy desk helps in the unobstructed workflow, sometimes a bit of mess on the desk could make you feel liberated & help to be creative and thus more productive.

Whether you are working at an office or home, noise is an inevitable interruption you have to deal with. A light, soothing music can not only help you get away with all the disturbing noises but also can help you focus on your task at hand and be more productive.

To be more productive, it is important to ensure that your body is at ease and comfortable while at work. Hence, you cannot ignore to invest in the right furniture. Make sure to invest in an ergonomic chair that gives support to your back & neck in each position and provides a more healthy and comfortable sitting experience; A sophisticated, height-adjustable desk can help you seamlessly move between sitting and standing postures & support your wrist & forearm.
