You're not alone. Many struggle with setting boundaries due to deep-rooted cultural and personal expectations.
Learn how to build your "boundary muscle" and reclaim your sense of self. Here's where to begin:
???Get Curious About Yourself: Reflect without judgment on instances where you say yes, even when you want to say no. Are there moments you take on too much to avoid inconveniencing others?
???Pause Before Reacting: Stop your reflex reactions. Instead, take a moment to breathe or step outside when you feel the urge to immediately accommodate others.
???Choose Different Actions: Learn to say no to requests that don't align with your instincts. Practice negotiating terms that work better for you, like adjusting meeting times to fit your schedule.
Empower yourself with self-compassion and patience as you practice these steps. Creating and maintaining boundaries is a journey towards a healthier, more satisfying life.

3 个月"Out of bounds"... a common, important phrase in sports. Of course to know when one is "out of bounds", the boundaries must first be defined. And once defined, enforcement is key. Whether formally defined or informally evolved, boundaries exist in virtually all organizations (business and otherwise). An important consideration for each of us is how well these boundaries align with our individual expectations, preferences, and boundaries. Where there is dissonance, it is incumbent on each of us to assess the circumstances, causes, and potential solutions. This necessitates identifying and articulating where our individual boundaries are. As many other contributors so well note, these boundaries may exits across myriad dimensions. Understanding how one will enforce these individual boundaries is also important. When setting individual boundaries, I'll suggest several considerations: "What" is the boundary; "Why" is it important; "How" will you observe and enforce it? To "Whom" is it relevant (individuals/organizations, etc.). Be well my friends. Keep up the fire!

It is so crucial to remember that boundaries help us do a better job, be more productive, and be more balanced! It is not about saying NO, it is about making sure you get what you need!
