Prep:
This was second series & 5th workshop that we were running for this client. In the past we have done sessions for different audience (haven’t posted synopsis about those, will do soon). Still we did have diagnosis calls & sought clarity on the outcomes, roles & deliverables.
One major challenge we have here is the space availability & this time we had a fairly large group. We started exploring options around where all can we do the activities. We had to factor in the group movement, transition, set-up, debrief space etc. Finally, we zeroed down upon their recreation room only & decided to use activities that would take up minimal space rather than using different different venues.
The props were secured & we decided to reach quite early as I wanted to co-facs to have a feel of the activity as they too were going to experience it for the first time.
The set up was done and while doing the topsy turvy, co-facs felt that the sheet might be insufficient. So the activity was re-engineered to accommodate this contingency.
And we were set to go..
Execution:
The session began with my standard JOLT of team swap & then the teams got to the activities. I gave a jolt to Vahista as well asking her to do a rapid fire debrief with her group after the first activity Since we were doing the relay mode, each group did 2 activities.
Closure was done with the groups sharing what is it that they would do differently as individual, department & organization on flip charts and then presenting it to the larger group
What worked:
Specific & detailed contracting with the client sponsor.
Detailed preparation with the team, props & venue
Being fluid during delivery.
Learnings for me:
Check & double check the props
Happy Learning !
