A product series with Adatugo Oyebanji
Long time no newsletter. I guess it is a Happy New Month since it has been a long time since I wrote my last newsletter.
Let me catch you up on what I have been up to. So took a course with a Product management institute Enoverlab where I took a 3 months training learning about product management and everything it entails. I can tell you for free that their sessions were as easy as ABC and very eye-opening. Don't get me started about the teaching method of Olabanji Ewenla, CPM . Don't take my word for it just check out their website
So while I was self-reflecting on what type of content I can share with the upcoming product managers, I birthed the idea of speaking with experienced PMs sharing their experiences as PMs and what products they currently handle.
So I would be featuring various product managers in this series from various sectors. This series would be published bi-weekly in this newsletter and I can't wait to feature more amazing product managers.
On today's episode, I spoke with a seasoned product manager. She's an experienced product manager with 7 years of experience currently working with Sterling Bank building Fusion by C-One . She has worked with various brands like Remita and NowNow
My name is Adatugo Oyebanji.
I have been a PM for 7 years and I currently work at Sterling Bank as an EIR at one of its incubated start-ups - #Fusion

Yes, I will any day any time.
As a PM how do you manage time?
I have a To-Do List that I am very strict with for prioritizing tasks and I practice time off from screen time when I have real time to do Deep Work?
Begin by learning about the fundamentals of product management. Read books, take online courses, and follow reputable blogs to build a strong foundation.
Then start small by?taking on personal projects where you act as a PM. This could be creating an app, managing a website, or launching a small product.
Go ahead to build a portfolio that highlights your understanding of PM concepts. Include personal projects, case studies, or any relevant experience. Then offer your PM skills to nonprofit organizations, startups, or friends' projects. This practical experience can be valuable and help you learn on the job.
Do it Afraid! Prioritize effective communication with your team and stakeholders, and always be open to feedback and learning from both successes and failures.?
Embrace a data-driven approach to decision-making, and don't hesitate to collaborate and seek support from experienced colleagues in the field.?
Remember that empathy, adaptability, and a customer-centric mindset are key to becoming a successful product manager.
One of my favorite hobbies is reading books. I love diving into different genres, from fiction to self-improvement, as it broadens my perspectives and helps me relax.
Thank you so much for your time, I hope these few questions would one way or another inspire aspiring PMs.
Stay tuned till next time as we feature more existing personalities who are building amazing products and doing their best work changing lives one product at a time.
