Session 7: Transient people and the consistent state of Impermanence

As I sit down with Dr.Rakish after not seeing him for over a month, he offers me a green tea and welcoming handshake as usual.

The sessions have been every two weeks since the start of my development but as the coaching process has evolved, we decided to meet monthly to give more time for myself to implement the changes that I’m making and to see the results of his coaching strategy.

Usually I report back after two weeks with immediate feedback and changes to myself, the business, relationships etc this time, it has been a month, these temporary fixes and updates were no longer relevant and I was starting to see the long term effects of them.

It feels like watching a sunset and then going home with the fortnightly sessions, this is now watching the sunrise and sun et multiple times in different locations and then reporting back what I’ve seen.

The first week was great, being thoughtful, making super intelligent decisions, strategy and marketing was taking a really uplift, my contacts were all coming forward with great ideas and responses to the business.

The second week was exhilarating and once again I was making super progress with VAYYU? which had involved getting products to market, new territories and global distribution.

The third week the most intriguing, the peace and calmness that I had, was actually unnerving and the consistency of it.

I had to have some awkward but very much needed conversations with some of my staff which was out of complete love for them and it worked out beneficial for all over us after the air was cleared.

I am always looking to develop my team and I’m not afraid to have those much needed talks as long they are done with respect and brutal honesty.

There is no pink elephant in the room with VAYYU?, I can guarantee you that.

The fourth week was the most interesting, with all the media coverage around the CoronaVirus, I decided that I would limit the meetings I was having in London until everything has blown over and I started to really look at my schedule and what it consists of.

I currently have three priorities with VAYYU?, fund-raising, partnerships and sales, I don’t take meetings generally unless one of these 3 prerogatives are the talk of our conversation and I’m very honest about this.

I wouldn’t want to waste anyone else's time as that would be selfish of me but I occasionally meet some renown individuals for a catch up or an exploratory conversation for potential business.

I pride myself in knowing that my word is my bond but this week, I analysed the quality of meetings that were booked in and actually thought, I don’t actually believe that these 3 requirements are being met.

I was attending meetings for the sake of it, so I respectfully called the individuals / companies and rescheduled for a few months down the line when my priorities have changed.

I don’t think I had cancelled a meeting in over 6 months but this time I had cancelled three in one week, I value my time and will not let anyone else waste it, take advantage or not value you it and I always need to remind myself of that.

That week instead I caught up with all the tasks I needed to complete a took a day a full day off to mediate in a Buddhist retreat for a while to regain my sense of balance and purpose, I realised what a progressive month this has been whilst reflecting in mediation.

I have understood that not everyone on my journey is going to be there until the end, I understand that it's full of transient people and I’m actually okay with that now, the consistent state of impermanence is actually a blessing, not a curse, it brings new talent, new ideas and new energy.

Having Dr.Rakish there for me has been amazing, one could even say comforting, as he has shared the weight of my burdens for a short time to help me climb these steep ledges on the mountains, whilst also guiding my path.

I now feel that I am over the ledge, I have set out on my own again, the feeling of freedom and liberation I once felt a few years ago came rushing back, it’s daunting to look around and actually know that nobody is here on my journey permanently but I understand that people are transient, they come and go, this is also part of their cycle and VAYYU? is happy to be apart of their progression In life.

My team are the most important people to me and as I lay the ropes off the edge of the mountain for them to grab and pull themselves up, I pray God will strengthen their hands with a firm grip, so when I look back they are still all there climbing away with me and we can celebrate as we reach the summit together.

The most important thing is that I am constantly on my journey and honour VAYYU? with my time, intention and energy whilst I lead the way.

It’s not a goodbye to my coach and my friend but more of a see you soon as I continue climbing this beautiful mountain alone with the crucial skills and key knowledge that he has instilled in me.

I couldn’t have done it without him.
