Here are a few things David covered during session #1 of the 5-Days To Unshakeable Confidence Workshop.
The purpose of this five-day training is to give you an advanced understanding of what confidence is, where it comes from, and how you can build it automatically each day. You'll learn to turn your mental blind spots into the most powerful and rewarding advantage for your peak performance.
- At some point in our career, we're all subject to self-doubt of one form or another, and when we have a doubt...we're not focused on greatness, but rather what could go wrong. The cure is not to neglect that and pretend it's not happening, the cure is to cultivate genuine confidence that replaces the bad habit of doubt.
- You are a powerful human being who can create the life and the career that you want, and you're going for your truth, It's your truth and your truth only.
- When you make it about something bigger than you, you're in service of others and that is very empowering.
- Your focus creates your reality. You have got to be focused.
- Learn self-responsibility for all the good stuff and all the shit stuff. It will empower you. Instead of focusing on the outside, take all that energy that has been wasted and put it back into your focus on yourself. Take full responsibility for all the good, and all the bad.
- We get hung up on small things that don't move us to where we want to go. That's why we need to have some kind of goal. Take, for example, the A, B, C of goal setting. A type goals - you already know how to achieve them; B type goals - are stretch goals you think you know how to achieve; and C type goals - The goals you REALLY want to achieve from your realm of fantasy.
- You set goals in the bigger picture to learn and grow because you have a spirit inside of you that wants to expand and express itself.
- David showed us all a very simple exercise called the unbendable arm exercise. The exercise demonstrated that when we give somebody different instructions, we can immediately increase that person's strength with just a few different words. There was no trick and David demonstrated it on the street with a complete stranger.
