Serving as a Lighthouse

Serving as a Lighthouse

I recently asked Randy Kroll his thoughts on what business owners and leaders should keep in mind as they navigate today's turbulent times.

“People. The giftedness of people as well as the ability of people to change. In turbulent times like we face today, people are going to address issues in their own minds in very different ways. As a leader of an organization, one needs to be very sensitive about how people are processing everything, but also give a sense of hope for the future and a sense of direction, so that the individuals in the organization have a light house out there from which they’re operating,” he says during this short one-take, unedited interview available to watch or to listen to.

Randy also discusses how to keep employees motivated and focused. "Constant communications encouraging hope for a better future, being real with them about how painful and different this is, and [providing perspective]: point to various crisis points in the last 40 years and say, ‘look at how our lives changed after them, but each time we grew new economies and new ways of doing things, and we will be able to do that again. There will be new opportunities.' "

A CPA with 40 years of experience specializing in in the areas of financial services, manufacturing and nonprofits, Randy also has extensive leadership experience including running an established CPA firm and three different schools, and serving on various boards of directors. He brings all of this to bare when helping Platinum Group clients with transition planning, strategic direction, talent management and interpreting their financial statements, particularly during periods of turnarounds and economic turbulence.

Platinum Group is Minnesota’s most experienced advisory group helping business owners and leaders with extreme challenges including financial setbacks, lender/landlord re-negotiations, turnarounds and bankruptcies.
