the “optimized and rationalized” Health Tourism MICE event

…with the features which make it “attractively different”

Each year we have, the now, established “norm” (status quo) repeated, i.e., a plethora of events – putatively named - or “sold” as - “international”, but in reality, subservient to – and promoting - a specific destination.

The point being made in this article is that there is a “need and desire” to have Health Tourism MICE events which are not reliant for their financial viability (and financial success) on funding by the governmental leadership (or the industry representative body) of the country – or city - of location.

Yes, being a realist, I am fully aware that to date, all such events have “needed” to rely on funding by a governmental organization - or representative body – or other “interests” - for their financial viability – and financial success.

But this “financial dependence” means that these events are inevitably, indisputably and de facto, associated with “compromise”.

When something (including, in this case, an event) is “compromised”, it means having been damaged in terms of reputation – because it found it necessary to make “concessions” (to “financial contributors”) and thus, does not function “optimally”.

“making a concession” means to “give up” something (i.e., to compromise) in order to reach an agreement.

the World Health Tourism Economic Forum

…which encapsulated and distills all the others

With regards to the plethora of events during any given year, in one LinkedIn post, I observe: there are countless economics-themed events staged around the world each year - and then there is the Davos Economic Forum – which encapsulates and distills all the rest (? https://www.dhirubhai.net/posts/constantine-constantinides-m-d-ph-d-a22912197_thirdplace-davoseconomicforum-davos-activity-7113023087561891841-ZfuD/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop? ).

It is in order to address the “need and desire” that I designed and am planning (in collaboration with a reputable event organizer) the staging of the (ht8) World Health Tourism Economic Forum, which is associated with the following distinguishing features (which makes it “attractively different”):

  • includes (as speakers) world-recognized futurists (members of the Health Tourism Hive – the sector-specific “think and do” tank) to present Plausible Health Tourism Futures
  • is destination-neutral – truly “international”
  • presentation of Originated and Implemented / Implementable (i.e., “real”) Innovations (combinational, permissionless and open)
  • optimized and rationalized, with regards to Objectives, Design, Scope, Content and Speakers
  • designed for the Internet Century
  • associated with a set of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs - the only way to determine the success of an event)
  • a Blue Ocean Event (for which, competition is irrelevant)
  • encapsulates and distills all the other Health Tourism Events
  • serves as the "third place" for the Health Tourism Industry - the supply side “Starbucks”
  • is associated with the 8-segment (ht8) grouping approach to design and structure (i.e., the Long Tail approach - increased choice creates increased demand – and consumption)
  • Less Show – More Substance
  • will not include a “nominations and awards” fanfare (where practically everyone gets a prize for being the “best” in something or other) – because Peter Thiel has taught us that competition is a game for losers

?All the listed features are presented and explained in dedicated LinkedIn articles and posts.
