IT service management are the activities that are performed by an organization to design, build, deliver, operate and control information technology services offered to customers.
How IT Services Function
An?IT service?is a means of delivering?value?to customers by helping them achieve their goals without the ownership of specific costs and risks. The customers is only exposed to the cost or price of a?service, not to the provider’s costs and risks. In particular, IT service is a service provided to one or more customers by an?IT service provider. It is base on the use of?IT?and support the customer’s business processes.
An IT service is a combination o people, processes, and a complex stack of technology, from local devices to global networks and massive data centers. Software and hardware are layered together in endlessly inventive ways to solve problems. Thus, the IT service must be designed, build, operated, and continually improved over time. Those essential states are known as the?IT service lifecycle.
