As a part of the Engineering Office team, I was responsible for assisting in the planning and design of various projects, utilizing GIS technology to analyze geographical data, and support city-wide initiatives. Leadership Practice - Encouraging the Heart

Among the five leadership practices from our text, I found that "Encouraging the Heart" was particularly evident during my time of service at the Engineering Office. The leadership in the office consistently showed appreciation and recognition for the hard work and dedication of the team members. They would regularly celebrate team achievements during departmental meetings, fostering a positive and supportive work environment. This practice not only boosted team morale but also encouraged individuals to continue striving for excellence in their contributions.

Team members felt valued and motivated to put forth their best efforts, knowing that their contributions were genuinely appreciated. As a GIS Intern, I personally experienced the impact of this leadership practice when my supervisor acknowledged the successful completion of a critical GIS analysis project. Their heartfelt appreciation boosted my confidence and further fueled my commitment to supporting the team's efforts.
