Service Bulletin Monday 18th December 2017

Here at Asendia we strive to keep our customers satisfied, which is why we would like to keep you updated about issues out of our control. The weekly Service Bulletin will inform you about current and upcoming worldwide events that may affect our postal services.

International Services

Peak Period

As per previous communications we are now in the busiest time of the year for the mail and parcels industry.

With the increase in volume come the usual challenges – space on commercial airlines and road transport is at a premium and the rise in volumes will inevitably increase the pressure on local postal networks.

We would like to remind all of our customers at this time to review our last posting date communications to try and ensure that mail is delivered on time for Christmas.

Portugal: Update 18th December

There is a planned industrial action from 21st – 22nd December, this may cause some delays for deliveries of inbound mail.

Greece: Update 13th December

There was a 24 hour strike on Thursday 14th December 2017 which affected both international and domestic mail collections and deliveries.

Chile: Update 12th December

International operations were running from Tuesday 12th December, however as a result of the relocation the process for the receipt of inbound letters, parcels and EMS will continue to see delays between 12th and 15th December

Service to France

Delay’s maybe expected for some mail due to an industrial action in the Quimperlé distribution centre (29300)

UK Services

Some mail posted in parts of the UK for delivery in parts of Scotland may arrive later than anticipated. This is due to capacity issues at the North West Distribution Centre meant not all mail was able to travel on scheduled services to Scotland.

Some mail posted in parts of the UK for delivery in Central and Southern Scotland may arrive later than planned. This is due to the late arrival of a vehicle in to the National Distribution Centre on Saturday night meaning it was late departing for its connection to Edinburgh.

Some mail from around the UK sent to addresses in parts of South Wales, Essex, Anglia, South Yorkshire and the OX, RG and SN postcode areas may be arriving a little later than planned. This is due to the peak period and all mail processing centres are very busy with high volumes of seasonal mail. The busiest at the moment are Cardiff, Chelmsford, Peterborough Sheffield and Swindon Mail Centres.

Normal deliveries and collections should take place in all other parts of the UK today.
