Serve with a joyful heart

Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the heart.

It's easy to justify our actions and rationalize gameplans. 'I don't need to give that much to the church... Like God needs the money!' or 'I can have 1 (2,3,4) more drinks... I deserve it after the day I had.' or 'No one will care if I keep a little more for myself.' We may even do great things but with the wrong motivation. 'I'm going to give to my favorite charity! (As long as my name goes on the wall and people see what I did!)' or 'I bought this gift for you! (I better get that promotion now!)'. or 'YES I took out the trash! Are you HAPPY NOW!!!' After a statement like that, who wouldn't be?!? God calls us to serve, do our best, and to love others, but He also calls us to do it with a joyful heart. We may be able to hide our motives from some people, but we can't from God. Seek opportunities to honor God by serving with a joyful heart and have a blessed day!
