Servant-Leadership
Primary focus to Serve; secondary to Lead!

Servant-Leadership

Many thought leaders view leadership as a position of authority and power. Servant-leadership style leaders focus on serving the needs of their team members, organizations and communities at first. This philosophical principle is what I practice!

Servant-leadership is a well known leadership philosophy that focuses on serving others needs. This is a powerful leadership capability if done right where leaders prioritize the well-being and growth of their team members, and empowers them to reach their full potential. The qualities of a servant-leader include:

  1. Empathy: Leaders show genuine care for the well-being of their team members.
  2. Integrity: Leaders uphold high ethical standards and work with honesty and transparency. They are humble, feedback centric and encouraging.
  3. Empowerment: Leaders empower their fellow team members by providing their full support, autonomy and much needed resources for them to succeed. They foster a culture of trust and accountability.
  4. Visionary: Leaders have clear vision for the future, and articulating a compelling vision and guiding the team towards common goals are the traits of Servant Leaders.
  5. Growth mindset: Leaders are committed to the growth and development of their team members by providing adequate coaching, mentoring, teaching with providing them learning opportunities to advance their careers.

Servant-leadership fosters a culture of autonomy, compassion and empowerment so that the team is committed to reach its ultimate goal.
